    Yes. Unsurprisingly, Octopus paints a rather unrealistically glowing picture of Tracker by glossing over the way that they’ve hiked up their profit margin over and above the wholesale price. And by drawing a comparison only with the capped prices, and not the much cheaper fixes from other companies that have been available. Such as the 4.62p for gas (and an even lower later offer) from Ecotricity.

    Through the perios they're comparing, I think I read that more than 80% of domestic customers were on the capped SVT. So their comparison is a fair one, in my opinion.

    Given the current shortage of "much cheaper fixes" it will be interesting to see how many people are on the SVT when July's cap comes around.

    (I was on a much cheaper fix with Zog at the end of 2021, but they went bust as prices surged and I ended up on the SVT with EDF until I switched to Octopus and Tracker.)
