Octopus Tracker

You may be getting confused with normal tariff ts &cs as current Tracker ts & cs state that you can leave at any time but not join again within 9 months.
It is said that there is a limit to everything. This cannot be true as everything has no limit!0 -
9 month Tracker rule does not apply within last 49 days of the 12 month fixed term.

An interesting response from Octopus customer service but that is not what their Terms and Conditions state!
Both the Ts and Cs and the Tracker FAQs clearly state the '9 month' condition with no mention of the '49 day' exception that may apply to other tariffs so either the web site is incorrect or you have been given the wrong information.
The '49 day' rule was set by OFGEN and relates to switching tariff without incurring exit fees,
I was once given incorrect information by Octopus customer services so you may wish to check.

I have left Octopus and got an email to say my bill was in .
For 1 day it was £3.69 and for 10.03 units and the unit price was 30p.
If Octopus had included all my usage for the time I was with them my average would of been 25 pence
I was on the September tracker but moved to OFTM B4 the higher gas prices came in.

Here's the application of the 49 day rule on my move from Tracker to Flexible:

You could leave tracker any time, that still doesn't make it clear if you can return though.
I ended my tracker gas early, although within the 49 days and I'm not bother if I can return it not as thr current formula makes it unattractive anyway even without Iran.

Very much agree. I left Tracker after the replacement of one of the earlier tariffs with one of the newer rip-off tariffs. I’ve never felt the desire to return to Tracker, despite keeping an eye on the prices, because it’s always been uncompetitive with well timed fixes.
The mistake some make is to compare Tracker with capped rates - a more meaningful comparison is with fixed rate deals, which have until very recently been much cheaper.

It was consistently below 5p/kWh on my version of Gas Tracker until a month or so ago, so jumped onto capped rates when the Orange one and and his mate's actions pushed it over 7p/kwh.

This blog from the price change email recently mentions it -
Right at the bottom under the section on Do Agile and Tracker have Exit Fees it states -
if you leave before your 12-month term is up, you won’t be able to rejoin for another 9 months.
Good to know: this doesn't apply if you leave within the last 49 days of your tariff.

Good find. Would make an interesting blog if they did the comparison with the current formula though. Tracker was good but they make it much less so with the latest formula.
