I'm assuming its too late to fix?

My experience of SOLR, twice, is that the gaining supplier does not honour the failed supplier's tariff.

Possibly not, according to Martin Lewis. Worth running a comparison…..nothing to lose.

Hmm... I'm not sure if I should now fix my gas or ride out the wholesale market. What are other people's views. Also unsure about if I should fix my mum and dad's electricity and gas too. For me, my TOU tariff makes sense given my EV, solar and batteries

Octopus seem to be the cheapest for me in London if I were to fix;
Electricity
Daily standing charge
45.78p /day
Unit rate
21.95p /kWh
Gas
Daily standing charge
34.28p /day
Unit rate
5.69p /kWh

Would a comparison actually be good to do though? Ie: surely it's basing it on "Well your average price is x but the new price is y"?
That, and tbh, most comparison websites don't even understand the tracker tariff so you might still pay more because you can't manually input your rate, and standing charge based on past bills

I decided to switch from tracker today. The smaller companies were the best deal, but past experience was that when Avro went bust the fix was not honoured. On that basis I opted for the slightly more expensive MSE Eon deal which was the best with a large company. 14 days cooling off in case things settle, although it seems unlikely.

Only because you are seeing and quoting post April 1st rates after Government unit rate reduction whereas most, if not all other suppliers are showing current rates only.

at what point were Octopus quoted tariffs inclusive of the April unit rate reduction? is there a clear message stating that during the process? i didn't see a message on the Feb26 V6 quote.

On new customer quote page Octopus quote expected fixed rate unit and SC rates from April 1st, not including WHD recovery of costs change from SC to unit rate, also shown is current rates.
I only know London rates that I replied to are post April London rates.
Everyone can see where Octopus are on table of best fixed rates, based on current rates.(First thing this morning Octopus quote page was showing more expensive rates dearer than Flexible which subsequently got rolled back to March v1 rates.)
