Am I the only one who doesn't understand the new Tracker formula (for electricity)? The December 2024 formula had a multiplier of 1.17609 in the north east, whilst the April 2025 formula on the Octopus website says the new multiplier is 0.11993 which would represent about a 90% reduction in that part of the calculation.

Clearly that can't be correct, but it doesn't seem to be that they've missed the '1' out in front of the decimals or that they've put the decimal point in the wrong place. I can't get my figures to come out to what gastracker.uk is saying today's new price is either, no matter how I try and manipulate it.
Just had a look at the formulae and I can only think they have put the decimal in the wrong place - BUT does that make calculations result anywhere near to the actual price?  (I could never get my calculations to match the real-life URs so there's no point me trying it.)  Putting the decimal in the wrong place would be an increase in the multiplier, which would track with the SVT having increased too.
Yes, decimal point is in the wrong position e.g. (W * 0.12000) should be (W * 1.2000), the latter giving the correct price for today.
I notified Octopus of their error, and they've now corrected the FAQ for April 2025 electricity formulae.

I re-joined Tracker on the 11th at around 1pm and I've just noticed that I'm on the December 2024 tariff instead of the April one, and the FAQ page clearly says:

Here's the formula if you joined or renewed on or after 11 April 2025 at 9:00am GMT

As I only use it for electricity, and (unless I'm mistaken) the April one is cheaper than December, I'm guessing that's Octopus' mistake?

The April 25 Tracker is about 0.5 pence cheaper for me on the electric and the standing charge is 10p cheaper. I am going to message them to ask if I can switch my electricity to the cheaper one and leave the gas on December 24

Let us know how that goes as technically you're leaving a tracker early

I just switched my electric from the Dec 24 12 months fix to this. The lower standing charge means I will save money unless I average over 25p a kwh. Unlikely I think.
    I left my gas fixed.

Changing from tracker version to a different tracker version does not involve leaving tracker tariff+ current tariffs have to be available to existing customers.
