The December 2024 formula had a multiplier of 1.17609 in the north east, whilst the April 2025 formula on the Octopus website says the new multiplier is 0.11993 which would represent about a 90% reduction in that part of the calculation.
Clearly that can't be correct, but it doesn't seem to be that they've missed the '1' out in front of the decimals or that they've put the decimal point in the wrong place. I can't get my figures to come out to what gastracker.uk is saying today's new price is either, no matter how I try and manipulate it.2 -
I re-joined Tracker on the 11th at around 1pm and I've just noticed that I'm on the December 2024 tariff instead of the April one, and the FAQ page clearly says:
Here's the formula if you joined or renewed on or after 11 April 2025 at 9:00am GMT
As I only use it for electricity, and (unless I'm mistaken) the April one is cheaper than December, I'm guessing that's Octopus' mistake?0 -
The April 25 Tracker is about 0.5 pence cheaper for me on the electric and the standing charge is 10p cheaper. I am going to message them to ask if I can switch my electricity to the cheaper one and leave the gas on December 240
