Been considering a switch back to tracker.  just didn't wanna jump to early but I think now is the time. Gas usage is low enough now to not make too much difference if prices creep a bit.

I tend to look at it the other way around, even if Tracker is low from now until the end of summer I don't use enough gas to matter, what I am more concerned about is locking in the lowest fix I can get to take me through winter if the prices take a turn for the worse.

Can always switch back to Tracker in winter if the prices are good, but you can't get a cheap fix if the prices are high by then...

Tracker Gas is still trending downwards, per the charts at https://gastracker.uk - about 5.5p/kWh now.

For me, on April 2024 v1, 4.83p/kWh this weekend - looks like the first time below 5p/kWh since September 30th 2024?

@KevinG noted (on the Agile thread ) that gas is down again. For me (Dec 24 version, Southern region) it's 5.05p/kWh today.

I'm currently using about 20kWh/day of gas, so around £1 a day.

Edit: plus almost 30p/day SC.

Just switched to Tracker Gas worth a gamble with today’s price of 4.83 in East Midlands with lower SC at 29.43 than SVT

Alternative logic: if I've got a no exit fee 14-M Loyalty Fix today, I'm disinclined to leave it (for Tracker) only to find later that it's no longer available in NEF form.  I spend more on elec than gas annually. As you say - it's a gamble.

Anyone in Eastern region got a rate for gas for today 11/4 , mine is missing 
I reckon it should be 4.85 , I don’t want SVT at 6.92 !!

EDIT: octopus sorted now it does say 4.85

The gastracker.uk site thinks there's an April 2025 v1 version of Tracker.

For me in Southern region, April 25 on that site is slightly more expensive for gas but slightly cheaper for electricity, when compared to my current December 2024 v1.

Can't see April 25 on the Octopus tariffs site, though?

According to gas tracker.uk price today is 4.96 for new tariff as opposed to 4.85 for December tariff in East Midlands.

Gastracker uk website indicates for April 2025 version, Gas SC not increasing - E SC changed to reflect mostly lower transmission costs - North East Region down from 70.05p to 58.46p.
