Is it worth moving from the Loyal Octopus 16M Feb 25 V1 to the new Loyal Octopus 14M Fixed March 2025 V4 - the difference seems minimal?

I'd be worried about getting switch-fatigue myself. [But the other channel deals with Fixed TariffsTelegraph Sam

I let my December 23 tracker run to the end at the end of Feb but signed up to the 14 month fix on the 10th Jan starting on the 1st March. Strangely I only looked yesterday on MSE Cheap Energy Club as I was tempted by the British Gas offer but didn't want to tie myself to one that had exit charges as i'm hopeful that a zero standing charge tariff will work out cheaper next winter due to my below average usage. V3 yesterday would have only saved me about £10pa so I cogitated overnight. Checked today and the V4 works out at about £60 cheaper mainly down the the revised lower daily sc for electricity so this seemed a no brainer. South Wales approx 5800 kwh gas 1650 kwh elec.I assume even though I didn't leave the tracker early I would not be able to start a new one for 9 months as I didn't take out a new tracker when the last one finished.0

We have many points in common ..
Except that my interpretation is that you are NOT barred from a new Tracker for 9 months UNLESS you left the old Tracker more than 49 days "prematurely" / early / before its end date. And that otherwise there are no restrictions on rejoining whenever you / I want. If this is wrong no doubt one of the forum gurus will put us out of our misplaced optimism very quickly.Telegraph Sam

For the sake of a saving of knocking on £250 p.a. I could be tempted to switch to Agile - except that on the one hand the latest signposted price 12.13 p / kWh could turn out to be very temporary, whilst on the other hand the SC 70.05 p could prove to be anything but (temporary). A rock and a hard place.?Telegraph Sam

Various threads mention the Octopus Tracker but I couldn't find one that deals with it specifically, so here we are ... PLEASE keep posts specific to Tracker issues.I joined Tracker last October. I'm wondering if this might have been a mistake and springtime might be a better time, on the grounds that energy might be cheaper in the summer months.Questions:- if you've been on this tariff a while, have you noticed that prices vary according to any sort of pattern, eg seasonally?- have you tried to do a price comparison with more traditional tariffs, eg the British Gas fix Martin is pushing at present? If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..0

Im on Tracker and haven’t been disappointed. I have been very frugal with the heating (I wear an Oodie indoors) but it has been on every evening and occasionally during the day. I started the winter over £600 in credit and have just had a bill showing I’m just over £600 in credit. The prices rocketed in mid winter but it’s obviously evened out given my credit status.0
