My January bill has just come thru and it shows my average for month 25p each unit (with the VAT) and came to £76 when I'm normally about £50.

It shows a message I could save £11 per year moving to their 16 month fix. Happy to stay on Tracker for now.

    Is the 16month fix new?
I have been comparing on the compare app and tracker Dec 23 has just about beat the agile/flexible/14month tariffs, but just went to add the 16month so I could compare that and its not on the list.
Octopus no longer offering me the 14month, so assume that has been pulled.
How different is the 16month to the 14month as can't find the details to compare?
Are people moving both energies to fix or just one?
I have a smart meter, but no solar or batteries, just electric used, agile worked out dearer on the compare app.
    Thanks
  • I am on Dec 23 tracker tariff .
Should the energy used and cost numbers on my bill match what my IHD says ? As mine don’t.
I have also  noticed the IHD is  showing  0 gas usage yesterday and that was definitely not the case  , could that just be a time delay ? Or is the IHD  not working properly.
    Any answers gratefully received.
As my username suggests my head is spinning with this , especially having renewed onto Dec 24 tariff yesterday and now starting to regret it.

On Octopus' tariff page, you should see the new 16 Month Fix, then select 'Historical Tariffs', and you should see the 14 Month Fix.

The 16 Month Fix is lower for electricity (and higher for gas).

As you say for North West, both fuels higher in North East lol

For me, East Midlands, the 16 month electricity fix is higher than the 14 month fix I’m currently on. I’m not really surprised, but it was worth checking.

Such comments are getting more frequent as each new Tracker version is introduced. To be valid the criticism should propose a more attractive alternative. Much more difficult.
Each version of Tracker has loaded the dice further in favour of Octopus, which is why the adverse comments have increased.
Not true for Eastern electricity, each of the two newest versions were a slight decrease in the formula compared with the preceding.  Enough to have given me pause to seriously consider Dec 24, until it became clear that it wouldn't save us money over the SVT while wholesale prices are at their current level.  (High gas wholesale prices plus not great forecast for wind etc. = likely no real drop in unit rate are what ultimately made me jump ship from the Dec 23 tariff.)

Was on Tracker for both. Decided to switch to EDF for cheaper SC's but cancelled when I heard rates are going up.

Switched from Tracker to Octopus Fixed for both today and will be switching to Electric with Tomato tomorrow.

Think that's the best choice now for me and no exit fees ;)

So the 16 month is slightly cheaper than the 14 month on electric and slightly more on the gas (I am in North West)

Just been looking at Tomato Lifestyle electric prices which seem much cheaper, what's the catch?  How do the 3 periods at lower price work?
Wondering now whether to fix the gas and move the electric to Tomato.

You're beta testing their systems for them - billing, metering, customer service. Meanwhile they're selling at a loss and/or not paying their suppliers on time.
