Could you explain for the uniniated like me?
Does this give any hint of how the trend might go if it follows last year's pattern?Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -
Not a clue for the forthcoming year, but if you look at the graph here https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/uk-natural-gas and set it to show 1yr, you'll see the very strong and clear trend, why we haven't had prices particularly go back down to the good old early days of Dec 23 for any sustained length of time.0

Expensive until the sun is shining for more hours and constantly interspersed with cheaper periods of we get heavy winds and a mixture of the two.Telegraph_Sam said:Could you explain for the uniniated like me?

Octopus Tracker was fun while it lasted. Time to move on.4 -
Speculation in the media this morning that if the tariff war between the US and China goes ahead and gathers pace, LNG which would have otherwise gone to China might end up coming here instead which would tend to bring prices down. Early days yet though as the situation seems to be changing by the hour.1

Yup. Gas was an average of 4.6p and electricity 20.2p, so a fair saving over SVR. Will keep an eye on both Tracker & Agile over the next few months and contemplate a switch if either of those two start looking attractive again.The_Green_Hornet said:

Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

My flatmate and I (2 bed flat) were about to switch to Tracker after our fixed deal ran out... reading these posts makes me think it's not the best idea.

Such comments are getting more frequent as each new Tracker version is introduced. To be valid the criticism should propose a more attractive alternative. Much more difficult.Telegraph Sam

Each version of Tracker has loaded the dice further in favour of Octopus, which is why the adverse comments have increased. Many alternatives have been given, and whether you consider them more attractive depends entirely on your own view of future price movements. Tomato Energy is a popular choice, and there are fixes widely available, including Octopus without penalty for leaving early.Telegraph_Sam said:Such comments are getting more frequent as each new Tracker version is introduced. I’ve switched to Octopus fixes, but it would have been Tomato had they offered what Octopus offer for exports. My decision is right for me, but may prove to be wrong. Who knows? Only you can decide what’s right for you.0
