I haven't worked it out in detail yet. Consumption is on the med to low side whilst the solars are average albeit in the (sunny) North East rather than  Isle of Wight. For that reason I regard income from export as a bonus whilst focusing on the bottom line. I believe that there are other possibly better export deals out there but that Octopus is one of the better ones taken from the more modern less generous tariffs.

Octopus are needing some days to change my gas tracker, interesting they cant do it right away.
Was that over the phone? On separate occasions recently I switched both gas and electricity away from Tracker, and it was instant.

Got a email reply, person said they need some days to make the changes and will backdate when its done.  I do tend to get different treatment to other customers. :)
Try the phone, maybe. For some reason it seems a better and quicker way to get things sorted out.

Yes I screwed that one up and you beat me to it with the typo correction.
Decision remains which of the two wins on balance. [Tomato Lifestyle is variable therefore not comparable?]

I've had mixed results from phoning (the hold-on music is at least listenable-to since wait times are long).  I've come to the conclusion that a combination of phone, email and Twitter is relatively the most hopeful.

Must investigate Lifestyle.  Why is that not listed in the ML Cheap Energy Club recommendations (for me)?

I did it via email, first of all to request switching to the fix from tracker (they replied the same day to confirm it) and then a couple of days later, to request an immediate switch instead of waiting until tracker 'fix' ended, got email reply to confirm the next day. All from the same person. I wouldn't be too worried about the gas though, especially if they'll backdate it.

If you do, could you let us know the story on export rates? Back in August they told me they don't pay anything. But I've seen comments on Facebook and elsewhere giving varying accounts, for example someone said Tomato insist on taking over export and pay 7p, but another said he'd left his export with his existing provider and only transferred import to Tomato.  Tomato don't appear to answer emails.

The answer should be relatively simple:  If you / I sign up to have export SEG credits paid into the Octopus Fixed Outgoing account you should get credit @ 15p / kWh,.  There is a separate export account no which can be viewed alongside the normal import account.

This pin points my concerns about switching to Tomato. If their systems are unable to cope with anything beyond routine straightforward circumstances then it is likely that "export" will fail also. Not  least since one has to include "generation" (FIT) as well as "export" in the enquiry. I am not sure if such matters can be clarified from the Tomato web site in the absence of email communications.  May be other members are a step ahead of me on this?

If you move to tomato, you'll get bumped down to SEG export circa 4.1p/kWh.

You have to be an octopus import customer to get the higher rate export tariffs.
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)

New bill from Octopus, no bill for Electric at all, just Gas, so not even charged before my move out date.
