Yes I screwed that one up and you beat me to it with the typo correction.
Decision remains which of the two wins on balance. [Tomato Lifestyle is variable therefore not comparable?]Telegraph Sam

Just my opinion (and I made the same comments in another thread) but I looked at the EON fix and concluded that I could get a cheaper fix for gas in my region (Eastern) with Octopus and I could get a cheaper leccy fix with Fuse Energy, so I went with that combinationTelegraph_Sam said:Could I ask for the forum's views on E.On Next 16 m V1 which is apparently being promoted by Martin Lewis on an "exclusive" Aldi-type basis (here today, gone tomorrow).0 -
Deleted my initial reply, as some might have jumped in based on my post. My view is now not worth it with the exit fees, you lose flexibility to adapt to market.

With the exception of the Elec SC's [where there is a 7.4 p / day in favour of E.On Next] the differences are pretty marginal, though I think with the ML / E.On combination I think there is a cashback goodie. Against which the E.On Next deal ties you in for 16 months. I'm tending towards staying with Octopus ...Telegraph Sam

What are the export rates? You have solar so probably export more than you import. For example our export is around 2.5 times as much as import, so losing 5p off export we'd need import to be 12.5p cheaper. Unless you're planning to swap between a Winter tariff for say Nov - Feb then back to a Summer tariff for Mar to October.Telegraph_Sam said:Yes I screwed that one up and you beat me to it with the typo correction.

This is where it gets complicated. Export SEG gets credited @ 15 p by Octopus whereas "FIT generation" continues with / from Scot power. I suspect that the ratio of import to export could be 2.5 to 1 = the reverse of yours. I am wondering if this arrangement could be disrupted if I was to switch away from Octopus. It took long enough to set up in the first place.Telegraph Sam

Was that over the phone? On separate occasions recently I switched both gas and electricity away from Tracker, and it was instant.Chrysalis said:Octopus are needing some days to change my gas tracker, interesting they cant do it right away.
Got a email reply, person said they need some days to make the changes and will backdate when its done. I do tend to get different treatment to other customers.

That's easy enough to work out, if you can save 1p on import that cancels out a 2.5p reduction in export. Assuming those are really your figures, you'd have to be a heavy user with a small solar installation.Telegraph_Sam said:
