FWiW, I believe that Octopus is deliberately trying to reduce gas customer numbers. The Company focus is primarily on electricity from green sources; innovative tariffs; new technologies; EVs, and the development and production of affordable heat pumps. Add to that expansion in the US; Japan and Germany: it really does not need to supply gas.bristolleedsfan said:Yes that is true, Zog have in last few weeks increased prices as per post you quoted, Octopus increased its gas fixed rates again yesterday/today, I edited new rate into post today, difference is huge, EDF Direct/Eon Next Direct same sort of gas kwh rate 2 year fix as ZogMust be a reason why Octopus are dearer than most others for fixed rate gas, lots who have been signing up often blindly without comparing the market and/or taking notice of gas kwh rate they signing up to going to have a shock if we have a cold winter, some see it just as pence/penniesNew energy cap variable rate from 1 October by comparison, my region max 4.04pkwh

I suspected Octopus keen to subsidise S/M E Tariff at expense of gas, whilst previously asked about gas only switches by tenants who are only responsible for gas, answer was dont do gas only, now reply saying they are changing no gas only option and offering to do gas only switches manually.

From what I can see, the Tracker seems to be their version of a deemed tariff which makes me a bit twitchy as they are the most costly but then if their estimated costs are accurate it doesn't seem to be that must more than their other offerings at the moment. In some regions today E Unit rate: 28.86 p/kW Gas 6.36 p/kWhShows on quote page as cheapest tariff which is misleading being as it has been expensive most of this year
Just over 35p/kW in a lot of regions today with gas holding steady around Gas 6.20 p/kWh ish

Agile is the same, 35p in my region from 0530 to 2230! There can't be many people left on those tariffs, surely?

Some stalwarts will be - particularly those who are importing very little as they have a large PV array and battery. It saves 4p a day in standing charges and allows access to Agile Export which is paying out handsomely at the moment.QrizB said:Agile is the same, 35p in my region from 0530 to 2230! Thank goodness we managed to persuade a few people to abandon this tariff.bristolleedsfan said:bristolleedsfan said:KTF said:

Absolutely! Can't imagine anyone is still on tracker, and very few would be on agile at present.masonic said:

Given octopus have increased the prices of their fixed rates too I'm really surprised that go and go faster haven't seen a recent increase in their peak rates....surely its only a matter of time. People need to move to it quick as prices are becoming stratospheric across the board!0 -
Now being capped E @ 30pkwh, G @ 6pkwh
