I think we have a different idea of "bleak".northernstar007 said:
look at the gas price on all trackers for tomorrow there all above the fixes, you ok ?crumpet_man said:In which case, what rate or tariff is being used for Northernstar007 to determine that "gas is looking bleak tomorrow"
5.81p (for me) on a day with predicted double digit temperature is going to make very little difference to my pocket or general well being.

6.56p kWh London - October 2024 version - Friday - 6.61p Merseyside/North Wales
6.64p Southern Wales 6.76p Southwest England0 -

Most will be on the Dec 23 version as that's what existing customers got moved to in Feb this year and which lasts one year.crumpet_man said:Is anyone here on the latest tracker? From memory, most folks are on much earlier versions but I could be completely wrong.

Yes my earlier post related to Dec 23
I'd be interested to know what fixed tariffs people have come up with, for comparison. Both fuels.Telegraph Sam

FWIW, Comment today from a Telegraph columnist:Pat38493 said:I am still seeing commentaries on other forums from experts who are saying that the gas price is being artificially inflated by speculation, and there is no underlying reason for prices being so high right now, and implying that sooner or later they will come down again quite a bit. Let's see."Gas prices surged to their highest level in a year after one of Europe’s key energy companies warned that supplies from Russia could be hit by a legal row.Dutch front-month futures - the benchmark contract used in Europe - rose as much as 5.4pc after the intervention by Austrian energy group OMV.Gas prices breached €46 per megawatt hour for the first time since November last year after the company received an award of €230m (£191m) from an arbitration council this week relating to Russian oil and gas supplier Gazprom. It follows a legal row over “irregular” gas supplies to OMV from Gazprom in 2022.OMV said it will immediately seek to recover the settlement by off-setting claims against invoices from the Kremlin-backed supplier. It warned that this may hurt contractual relations with Gazprom and potentially lead to a halt of supplies.Europe has become susceptible to swings in supply levels on the global gas market after pipeline supplies were largely switched off by Russia following Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine."1 -
With only a few weeks until the end of my tracker Dec23 to go, I am thinking now is the time to move to a fix,I cant see me moving to a newer tracker as these are even more expensive.Only advantage to holding out to the end of term is I could go back to a tracker when I want. Whats peoples thoughts ?0

Yep. Just bailed electricity to Tomato. Bit of a gamble yes, but I'm a low user and saving 13p a day on standing charge alone is enough of a saving, load shifting to 5p/14p time slots just a bonus.crumpet_man said:Is anyone here on the latest tracker? I'll ride Gas out for the time being.1 -

I asked earlier in year if I did nothing at the end of fixed term and rolled onto flexible.masonic said:jcb208 said:With only a few weeks until the end of my tracker Dec23 to go, I am thinking now is the time to move to a fix,I cant see me moving to a newer tracker as these are even more expensive.Only advantage to holding out to the end of term is I could go back to a tracker when I want. "The 9 month rule applies if you were to leave Tracker early, so it wouldn’t apply in the situation you’re talking about" (or moving to a new tariff when your current one has ended its term).3
