You have promoted yourself as an inside interviewer perhaps you can get the skinny on Octoous? Without the bias shown here against them.?

But yes back on topic, I have been promoting such rhetoric that indeed the new tracker formula has made tracker too risky for many with its circa 10-15% saving over the price cap.

There were fixes available recently that were a much better deal which I had been pointing people towards.

"BTW. do not demand data of Tracker prices or anything else if you aren't providing it yourself"
    ???
I have rather lost touch with latest correspondence but I do do frequent "Compares" when the program is running. To my surprise on the last several occasions it is showing that I am doing better with Tracker Dec 2023 than with Agile, with a reasonable degree of consistency. Not massively but enough to raise an eyebrow.

Same here. No way to tell if that will still be the case once I'm moved onto a new formular next February. Another reason for dithering is that just at the moment we're importing so little that the price has little impact, so would only save pence by chasing cheap slots with Agile. Come the Winter when we'll need more import, I don’t know if there will even be cheap slots.
  • expecting some very cheap days mon - late nextweek going into next weekend, charts are also saying it
and sky "remnants of Hurricane Ernesto There is a lot of uncertainty on the exact track and timings, but it looks likely that some unseasonably wet and windy weather will be heading our way later on Wednesday into Thursday"
  • You have worked out the algorithm that connects wet, windy and sunny conditions with Tracker prices? Tell us more ..

Just the usual https://emoncms.org/ukgrid I think. Certainly looking like a cheap week coming up. Especially Saturday as things stand.

I assume you know the Octopus Compare app? If not, it's quite good. Agile seems to work out a tiny bit better for people with battery storage. Meanwhile, enjoy your Dec 2023 rate while it lasts. Octopus 'senior customer happiness' person tried to tell me it was a defunct tariff and no one was on it any more. 🫢

I'd have thought there were loads of us still on it (apart from those who jumped ship, mainly to Agile) from The Great Shift in Feb this year.

Silly person telling you that.  Not open to new customers ≠ no longer exists for anyone.

You assume correctly. Compare is as good a source of data as I have found -  when it is running which is not night times (no batteries)
This would not be the first time that Octopus people have not  all spoken with one voice. Applies to their definition of happiness  (senior) also. I wait to see what happiness will  follow the termination of Dec 2023

Those of us who were already on on Tracker were moved onto the Dec 2023 revision in Feb 2024 and should be on it until Feb 2025.
