Talking of gas, what is everyone doing for the winter?

Anyone planning to ride out tracker and then switch to SVR if they have to (say it’s more than svr for a week or two?)

I think the rumour was a price rise in October and perhaps no change or a small drop in January?
PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)

I’m happy to stick with gas tracker as I monitor it closely and don’t mind the uncertainty. It’s paid off handsomely the last 2 winters with prices actually being lower in the winter than the summer.
  • ive just had my july statement in and , the avg price has shown up on both gas & electric
both are smart readings, full month on both avg ( still a good price 15.44 elec and 3.86p and lower sc on electric)
what im worried about i am wanting to go on agile in nov, and will be keeping away from peak time etc, will agile work for me or not

You can't be billed on Agile if there are any missing half hours, so averaging won't happen. If you are experiencing missing data frequently, that could be an issue as you may be billed on Flexible for some periods.
Meanwhile I have the ominous "Your balance may be temporarily incorrect as some transactions on your account are being manually reviewed". It seems in the app I now have two registers for meter readings again after having been forced off an E7 profile to join Tracker. That means a bunch of readings only included one register. So my guess is that it is related to that.

Surely you are using the compare app already in preparation and having a few test days where you follow agile pricing to show you what us possible?

i find using the compare app pointless as i do my washing atm in peak times, so the app is going to show false picture as i will be shifting to cheaper times or am i getting it wrong lol

i have been watching agile price the past few months so got a good idea what to expect

Hence my point, pretend you are on agile for a few days and see what effect it has and that will give you the best idea of what you could save.

If you pay the subscription for the compare app it has a "shift" option which allows you to compare tariffs with your peak loads avove a certain threshold moved to cheaper times on the target tariff - there are a few settings you can tweak to optimise the behaviour and graphs that allow you to see what is happening.

When previous formulas they made a loss as an exercise in tariffs they believe they and others should offer (to the people, for the people).

No they didn't this is an absolute myth.
Apart from the fact that Tracker went sky high quite a few times over the years it was not a loss-maker. Please don't fool yourself with Octopus's very effective PR. Octopus is an IT platform company backed by hedge funds - energy is practically a side hustle.
Not getting into the rest of this debate but couldn't let that one slide.
