I definitely don’t use FB - just got the octoaid app as heard it mentioned on here a bit. I have no idea how to use it properly yet. So was hoping to pick up some tips.

In an earlier post someone kindly sent me the matrix showing the "compatibility" of the Octopus Fixed Outgoing tariff with Tracker (and Agile). My interpretation is that there is no compensating downside to switching from an existing third party "FIT" scheme to Fixed Outgoing, and running both tariffs together. It would appear that Octopus does all or most of the legwork. Pleasant surprise if so.Telegraph Sam

Re your last para we are of course still operatating without crystall balls. Next best but not conclusive would be to relate the prices at any one time to a long term trend line. I suppose that somewhere this has been calculated. Or the long term average prices from My Smart Energy or similar web sitesI forgot Octopus were imposing such extreme rejoin restrictions, 9 months is quite a lengthy period that I think warrants my definition of extreme. It is as if they dont want people hopping around for the lowest price all the time. O_oWhat is my escape route then? I dont think I will need to use it, but it wouldnt be hard for me to avoid using my PC, cooking equipment during surge hours, its only 1/8 of the day, take away those surge hours and Agile has a pretty big buffer over Tracker where it would need quite a rise for them to merge, at which point SVR might be the cheaper option. QrizB's graph was based on the average rate over 24 hours which of course included the surge hours.0 -

can anyone advise pls
my mother in her 80s and in her old ways is on edf std tariff, now i'm getting her to move onto tracker
problem is she is in her old ways, likes paper bills and takes to the postoffice to pay or via phone, no email address and no mobile, which i can use mine if req to register, can she still go on tracker with a paperbill or is it a must to have a DD
and this is for electric only and has a smart meter0 -
You can pay by DD and still receive a paper bill, that's how my dad has his set up. DD is around 6-9% cheaper than pay on receipt of bill too.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

All,
Been reading Mse article on octopus tracker and Agile. I am considering switch from SVR to one of these:-
Q1) Agile is electric only, so what tariff would I be on for gas with octopus
Q2) We normal 4 bed house with CH heating and normal electric use, I work from home and do use a small convector heater in office on cold days during the day. Cooking is primary gas around 5pm daily. whic of the 2 tariff be better for us Agile or Tracker?
Thanks0 -
