I think you might possibly be confusing it with the Agile thread where your post still was when I last looked.vienna28 said:Bella i'm not sure you are correct that this is not tracker related because i have seen a few posters on this thread who were formerly on Economy 7 and they used economy 7 for heating their hot water and storage heaters. So i think me pointing out this new E7 rate on this thread will be of interest to them.
Those two tariffs are much more … well, not comparable really but not similar in terms of load shifting within the day anyway, than Tracker vs E7.
EDIT: I was wrong, there is indeed a new thread split from Tracker about it. Agreed with the others that E7 isn't relevant to Tracker.1 -
Before i saw that new EDF tariff i had moved over to Octopus agile at the end of Jan. Unfortunately on Octopus compare i cannot compare agile with E7 but my Octopus Agile use this month is £39.76. If i were on tracker this month it would have cost £73.77.So i do concede if somebody out there is on tracker for heating hot water with an immersion heater and for heating Storage heaters then they are on the wrong tariff.0

Standing charge is ~8p per day more, and the exit fees kill it for me (that and being EDF). Even if I could shift my consumption, I'd still be worse off - Currently averaging around 18.6p per kWh on tracker.masonic said: FWIW this looks like an awful tariff for someone on Tracker, as typically we are on this tariff due to our relatively high usage during peak hours.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Thanks Masonic. That you've tried E7, Agile and Tracker tells me it wasn't inappropiate of me to give that E7 tariff information on this thread.Afterall if people read Martin Lewis's E7 article on this forum he gives advice to E7 users by telling them to weigh up the options and for them to consider whether a single rate tariff would be better for them than the E7 tariff. So just like you were once on E7 but are now on Octopus Tracker then it's pretty obvious many other previous E7 users would be like you and will have done the same. It's also not impossible to believe that some may regret it and will now be looking to go back onto E7.Lastly the question whether i'm a spammer. No i'm not. There is zero in this for me. The EDF present E7 standard variable night rate is 16.33p night rate and that fix which i gave was a 11.15p night rate. So of course i will let members know about it. 🙂

If we accept that we are currently experiencing a period of low to normal prices, has any one got any evidence of how in the Agile vs Tracker debate both tariffs compare when prices are "normal to high"? With / without load shifting etc.Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know0 -

I shared a graph of Wholesale price vs Tracker and Agile last weekend and others have done similar. If prices go up then Tracker goes up more slowly than Agile. The break even point will differ depending on region and usage pattern. For Agile, higher prices also generally means peaks in both the morning and evening.Telegraph_Sam said:If we accept that we are currently experiencing a period of low to normal prices, has any one got any evidence of how in the Agile vs Tracker debate both tariffs compare when prices are "normal to high"? happening more times than not now on Gas. and this is only 11 days. "missing data"? so how do i make it stop "missing data"?

It only takes one missing half hour reading to force the whole bill to be averaged. A strategy some have used is to use a service like Guy Lipman's or one of the apps to check there is no missing data prior to giving a manual read for the previous day. The generated bill should then be based on a complete data set. To fix the root cause issue will require troubleshooting with Octopus. Could be fixable via firmware update (as was the case for my meter), or something else.pfpf said:happening more times than not now on Gas. and this is only 11 days. The rumours are some have a new date of 1st March arriving in their inbox to change to the new tracker formula.2
