BellaBlondykeTheThird said:The question that puzzles me though is Agile making money where Tracker was a loss leader?Because Agile only includes a fixed-cost element during the three hours of the evening peak, and because the Agile wholesale price multiplier is ~2 (varying by region), Octopus might lose money on off-peak electricity when the wholesale price is low.If the price soars away, they'll make money on it.Whether they make any money on any specific account will depend not only on the aforementioned but also on how much electricity that account uses during the evening peak.N. Can anyone think of any reason why Octopus might not want to highlight that they've allowed some customers to stay on the older and much more beneficial tariff?brook_heather said:
I wish they would remove that new banner stating "Note: All Tracker customers have now been moved to the December 2023 v1 Tariff" - it's not true - I am still on Tracker v3 until end of June.BellaBlondykeTheThird said:

Bella i'm not sure you are correct that this is not tracker related because i have seen a few posters on this thread who were formerly on Economy 7 and they used economy 7 for heating their hot water and storage heaters. So i think me pointing out this new E7 rate on this thread will be of interest to them.0

Well system administrator thought so? Was just pointing it out it had its own thread now if you wanted to promote it there?vienna28 said:Bella i'm not sure you are correct that this is not tracker related because i have seen a few posters on this thread who were formerly on Economy 7 and they used economy 7 for heating their hot water and storage heaters. So i think me pointing out this new E7 rate on this thread will be of interest to them.0 -
The forum team decided that it was off-topic, but are now offline until Monday. The spam button can be used to deal with such things out of hours.FWIW this looks like an awful tariff for someone on Tracker, as typically we are on this tariff due to our relatively high usage during peak hours.2
