My home display has never updated, still shows the tarring I was on last February when I switched to trackerSmeagal said:I switched onto the tracker a few days ago from flexible, my in home display is still showing I am on flexible so all the stats on the display like how much money has been spent today/this week are wrong as they are still basing my usage on 29.5p and 7.5p instead of todays tracker rates, is it meant to update to the tracker tariff at some point?0 -
Smeagal said:... is it meant to update to the tracker tariff at some point? As others have said, Octopus dont send daily Tracker rates out to your IHD.I've been on Tracker for gas for a couple of years now. My IHD reports my gas price as 4.46p/kWh, while the actual rate today is 4.18p/kWh.

I generally just have my IHD set to display kWh, just trying to manage Smeagal's expectations. As a previous Agile customer I got used to the IHD not being able to keep up. My home mini provides a more accurate picture within the Octopus app.Pat38493 said:
Most of those displays get the price from the meter. They are not going to update the meter every day so gernally those IHDs don’t work for pricing information when you are on a daily or half hourly tariff. He best you can hope for is that they update it with a sample price from whe you switchedmasonic said:
Mine never did. I don't know what price it is showing, but it isn't today's Tracker price.Smeagal said:I switched onto the tracker a few days ago from flexible, my in home display is still showing I am on flexible so all the stats on the display like how much money has been spent today/this week are wrong as they are still basing my usage on 29.5p and 7.5p instead of todays tracker rates, is it meant to update to the tracker tariff at some point?
I think that if you buy an IHD directly from Octopus it will get the pricing from their API

.I got my smart meters two days ago and the IHD is showing the exact Tracker daily rate and calculating totals correctly .
That came as a surprise as I ve read it many times on here that the IHD on Tracker is useless as its only using Flexible rates .1 -
We also had ours fitted whilst we were on Tracker already, and I'm fairly sure it calculates based on the rate it was the day of fitting (c.18p/kWh). But I only ever see it when it puts itself back onto the cost screen, the rest of the time it's on the live usage / power draw screen. With the Octopus mini the app is accurate for cost so that's what I use.SAC2334 said:

Although I've only been on tracker for about a week, the Eon supplied IHD is still showing the SVR prices. Not an issue as I'm pulling the data from Octopus via their API in to Home Assistant. If that goes down, I can use OctoTracker or OctopusCompare.millie said:

Home Assistant runs on a dedicated computer - Most people will use a Raspberry Pi, I use a NanoPi. Data is displayed on a desktop (or mobile) using a regular web browser.Telegraph_Sam said:
