Dreaded email now arrived. Interestingly my electricity tariff changes to the new formula and sc on 15/02/2024 but my gas v2 tariff remains the same. Hopefully as the email & t&cs state that means another year on the old formula and sc.tlcgrantham said:
Thanks for heads up. I got what I thought was the dreaded email a few minutes ago but it turned out to be confirming a win on spin the wheel ( my first in 3 years). If my lucky streak continues maybe I won’t get one.northernstar007 said:looking at cheap electric this weekend i think, going to be a bit windy
btw i still not had a email yet about change of tariff, i hope they have forgotten about me0 -
I had gas tracker end of fixed term email yesterday, have to contact them to go on current version otherwise default to flexible. I use no gas from expiry of fixed term which is 14th March until end October/November so will be switching gas to British Gas get myself £25 Amazon whist keeping options open for next winter.tlcgrantham said:tlcgrantham said:

Energy suppliers are required to provide reasonable notice when increasing prices, to allow customers to shop around for alternatives. Arguably 2 weeks notice is not reasonable? However I doubt many people could claim for any loss from the lack of notice due to lack of cheaper tariffs in the market.1

It only takes a few days to move provider now, so that's more than enough time.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0

Same here, but the electricity tariff increase is nearer 20% while the gas increase would have been less than 10%, so not such a benefit.tlcgrantham said:15/02/2024 but my gas v2 tariff remains the same. Hopefully as the email & t&cs state that means another year on the old formula and sc.1 -
Similarly, arguably it is. Question is: is anyone going to argue with them?Andreg said:Energy suppliers are required to provide reasonable notice when increasing prices, to allow customers to shop around for alternatives. Arguably 2 weeks notice is not reasonable?0 -
Ofgem considered 28 days too long, which is why they reduced it to "reasonable", presumably to align with more rapid switching. If you start a switch away before the change, you could ask them to honour the original pricing until your switch date.Andreg said:Energy suppliers are required to provide reasonable notice when increasing prices, to allow customers to shop around for alternatives.
