I got the email about my Agile standing charge (i understand that bit) but i don't understand

"Your unit prices still change daily but your unit price formula will be fixed for 12 months"

Is anyone able to explain this like i'm a proper plank?

    * Are my prices still changing every 30 minutes?
    * is my unit price formula changing or is it just being kept the same as it is now? (how much does this matter?)
The equation used to calculate the half hourly rate is now protected from being tweaked during the fixed term. It is not being changed now.

I've read it again but still not sure, is the standing charge now fixed on Tracker for 12 months or could it still vary?

  • The question for most of us will be: In my particular geographical circumstances what is the comparison between new formula Tracker and new formula Agile? Allowing for high usage wlth load shifting, or low usage with no load shifting. Does the new formula have a name?
Oct Compare doesn't work on my mobile. Will the new rates be visible within "All our Tariffs"?
The value of gastracker and mysmartenergy will only come when there is a bit of history to go on.

Gas is still an absolute bargain under the new formula just to put those concerns to bed for gas trackers.

And some electricity trackers areas have less of an increase in the new formula.

I do suspect however some areas will bounce near and above SVT come the 3 months period leading up to Oct 1st Price Cap. (But that's crystal ball gazing and finger in the air stuff)

I would be interested to know if the very original tracker adopters are also being moved. Are there still any on v1/2/3?

Just received my email, joined August 23 with no end date, that I am being moved over on 15.2.24.

I may look at Agile or keep on Tracker.  Have a play around with the figures over the next couple of weeks.

This is interesting in the T&Cs link contained in the email

2.9.6 If you leave Tracker during your fixed term period, you'll need to wait 9 months before switching back to Tracker, but would be able to sign up to any of our other tariffs that you are eligible for instead

So therefore, if I leave before 15.2.24, I can rejoin without having to wait the 9-months?

It's a question I posed as well. But I don't think anyone will know for certain

No.  The current T&Cs apply until the 15th, which also include the 9-month wait.

Received the e-mail today too.  I have other more important things needing my attention so I'll just have to see the potential slight extra expense above Agile to be the price to pay for simplicity and ease of use.  We'll still be saving decent money over the SVT until at least April.  Will just have to take each quarter as it comes now, I think.

If tracker and agile are now fixed terms, is there a penalty for leaving early?

    Agreed.
My standing charge will be increasing by ~0.6p per day, and my units by ~0.2p/kWh.
    Still a great deal.
