Octopus Tracker

Received the email as well, great while it lasted. For us, looking ahead to April, when the standard rates are expected to drop 16%, tracker will save me around 12% as opposed to nearly 34% as of now. The new expected saving works out to around £330 a year, so still worth having, but the gap between new tracker and standard rates is significantly smaller, and we'll have to think closely about risk v reward. Probably worth sticking with it for the summer, and then reviewing before the forecast 1st October increases. We are also members of one of the Ripple wind farms, so need to think about those potential savings as well. We'd like to stick with Octopus, but time will tell0

Just had my email - based on electricity alone the last 30 days would have cost me another £7. But it’s still cheaper than agile and flexible so it’s the best of the best1

But what I might do is a test over the next month. I have a hybrid and can load shift that usage based on when the rate is lowest, I had a couple of nights in the last month where I charged in the early hours to benefit from a lower per unit price and those days would worked out a bit cheaper on Agile.Archerychick said:Just had my email - based on electricity alone the last 30 days would have cost me another £7. So for a whole month load shift just the ev charging and the washing, which are typically on at peak 5pm and see what the octo compare app shows0 -

In a word, no. There are no exit fees, the only restriction for Tracker is that you can't rejpin for nine months.

I have to admit I’m a little suprised to be getting less than 30 days notice, I thought that was now the minimum notice required?crumpet_man said:Just had an email from Octopus notifying me they are moving me to the new tracker (December 2023 version) on February 15th. Not as much notice as I thought they would give.

I have contacted them to query, I thought it was a regulatory requirement. Will report backSpies said:I also read 30 Days notice in their current Tracker terms2 -
IIRC Ofgem removed the explicit 30 day requirement a few years ago. Now they just require "adequate" notice, sufficient that the customer can switch away if they don't like the new tariff.
