I applied just before 4pm yesterday, then somebody on here posted the link with the new rates, which I wasn't aware of when I applied. I sent a very polite email asking if they could possibly put me on the old rate, and they did. Got to love Octopus.

Bendo said:Can't find the Agile thread, but looks like there is also a new Agile December 2023 tariff. Not sure what the changes are there.
Therefore I guess this could make Agile more competitive versus Tracker for some people - it always seemed to me that Agile was quite a niche tariff with Tracker being priced so low.2 -
"Supposedly" someone is claiming they have seen an email from Octopus CS saying everyone is going on the new tariff in January.
They quoted the text but not a screenshot. Going to take that with a good pinch of salt until we see some proper proof.

This will be effective from January for all existing Tracker accounts, those applying after the 11th will be placed on the new tariff, with all other customers prior to 11th December being changed in January.Let me know if there is anything else I can help with. All the best,DanOctopus Energy

Maybe what they mean is that from January everyone will have an expiry date on their tariff.0 -
A bit suspicious that my bill is due to be created on 14 Dec and no gas readings are being shown for yesterday and today (I have the mini) with today's rate being 4.59p per kWh.
n3rgy have my readings, so there are no smart meter connectivity issues.

i would ave thought they would let the people with end dates be allowed to run them down at the least0

doesn't "January" seem a bit too close to be able to give customers "reasonable" advance notice?1
