I requested to be moved to Tracker last week but I'm still waiting for them to do it. Should they honour the previous formula or put me on the new more expensive one?
Those who applied to switch to tracker before 12pm yesterday get version with previous formula.
I should be ok then. Where have you seen that? it would be useful to take a screenshot of it in case their is any issues
If i see Octopus response elsewhere again on the subject I will take a screenshot, they have always had a policy of honouring applications that were made to switch to tracker before they announced a new version. they also make mistakes so if you get put on current version contact them pointing out you applied before new version was introduced.
Obviously refers to 12pm yesterday  :)

Can't find the Agile thread, but looks like there is also a new Agile December 2023 tariff. Not sure what the changes are there.
As far as I can see, the standing charge for Agile was increased to the same as the new Tracker one and the Flexible tariff, but the formula has not changed.

Therefore I guess this could make Agile more competitive versus Tracker for some people - it always seemed to me that Agile was quite a niche tariff with Tracker being priced so low.
  • "Supposedly" someone is claiming they have seen an email from Octopus CS saying everyone is going on the new tariff in January.

They quoted the text but not a screenshot. Going to take that with a good pinch of salt until we see some proper proof.

Yes, I've checked the old and new Agile rates via the API and can confirm that only the standing charge has changed which as you say will make Tracker less attractive to Agile for some new customers.

At a more general level, periodically changes to standing charges and/or unit rates add another level of complexity for "part time" Tracker customers who are switching in and out of it from other tariffs depending on the time of year.

I saw this on the FB group, quoting the email.

Thanks for getting in touch. This will be effective from January for all existing Tracker accounts, those applying after the 11th will be placed on the new tariff, with all other customers prior to 11th December being changed in January.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
    All the best,

Yes, but the FAQ that came out yesterday seemed to make it pretty clear that if your tariff has an end date, the old tariff would at least last until the end date?  I will be pretty miffed if they say that I have to move onto the higher price in January when my account says that the tariff is until November 2024.

Maybe what they mean is that from January everyone will have an expiry date on their tariff.
  • A bit suspicious that my bill is due to be created on 14 Dec and no gas readings are being shown for yesterday and today (I have the mini) with today's rate being 4.59p per kWh.

n3rgy have my readings, so there are no smart meter connectivity issues.

  • i would ave thought they would let the people with end dates be allowed to run them down at the least

doesn't "January" seem a bit too close to be able to give customers "reasonable" advance notice?
