I requested to be moved to Tracker last week but I'm still waiting for them to do it. Should they honour the previous formula or put me on the new more expensive one?0

Those who applied to switch to tracker before 12pm yesterday get version with previous formula.Matt17 said:I requested to be moved to Tracker last week but I'm still waiting for them to do it. Should they honour the previous formula or put me on the new more expensive one?1 -
Discussed on here many pages back. Not sure when the discussion started but this takes you into the rough timespan ..MultiFuelBurner said:
Ah great can you point me to the Octopus link that confirms it's loss making. I do like to read these things and store them for future use.Qyburn said:
As cited a few times on here, Octopus has stated that Tracker is loss making. Whether this new pricing puts it into the black isn't known.MultiFuelBurner said:So in my view the original formula had running costs and profit built in.
So where do we think Octopus have gone wrong?
I don't know if they can really be buying some on the spot market to cover their Tracker customers. And I think it very unlikely that they would be able to cancel hedged purchases as people move onto Tracker.

Sorry I should have been clearer, I meant which version were you put onto? I'm curious because yours had an end date and our renewal didn't.Griffindog said:

Which version?Griffindog said:When I renewed in June I was moved to the latest version of Tracker with new caps, standing charges and a 12 month end date.
We renewed in August coming off July 22 tariff, put on the Nov 22 tariff with higher caps but no end date, and for some reason lower SC than our previous one.

Speaking of Tracker price calculation, I'm sure I saw something from O giving a breakdown of the elements making up the price charged. Anyone else seen that and remember where it is?
Reason for wanting another look is that they put a mark up of around 20% on unit price, and also add a fixed per unit increment. That suggests that some of their costs scale with price, and I was wondering which those were. Credit and finance costs would. But presumably admin or maintenance wouldn't.0 -
I should be ok then. Where have you seen that? it would be useful to take a screenshot of it in case their is any issuesbristolleedsfan said:

If i see Octopus response elsewhere again on the subject I will take a screenshot, they have always had a policy of honouring applications that were made to switch to tracker before they announced a new version. they also make mistakes so if you get put on current version contact them pointing out you applied before new version was introduced.Matt17 said:

Can't find the Agile thread, but looks like there is also a new Agile December 2023 tariff. Not sure what the changes are there.

Standing charge has increased inline with all other Octopus tariffs.Bendo said:Can't find the Agile thread, but looks like there is also a new Agile December 2023 tariff. Not sure what the changes are there.1
