What little I understand about air sourced / ground sourced (?) heat pumps makes me treat the govt's PR in favour with a pinch of salt. I think there's a separate forum on heat pumps for them that take them seriouslyTelegraph Sam

Is that the dark part of the forum never to be seen and only spoken in hushed words.
Our Octopus energy bill for this year will total £1425 and that's for three separate buildings. Main house ASHP, outside garage gym partially insulated air to air heat pump and office fully insulated booth studio air to air heat pump. And a lovely partner who tumble dries everything in sight lol. That's all electrical usage as well. The PR hype for heat pumps is fine for new builds or those that favour a heat pump for sure.
How they work in older buildings I will let the forum know when Octopus survey some flats we own.0 -
23.24p kWh for our Eastern region
Calculating our usage for tomorrow and the following day with a similar rate to see out the month our average price for the month of November 19.5p per kwh.
Saving us £63.61 this month over the SVT and standard SC.

Gosh, just checked ours and it's 23.24p tomorrow. Sun's out here and the battery is charging, think I'll stick another wash on.

I risk being deliberately provative lol but does it make sense to take account of these relatively minor price movements on Tracker? Would not being on Agile make more sense?Telegraph Sam

As a general rule, when Tracker prices are high Agile prices are very high and when Tracker prices are low Agile prices are very low. I have an awful lot of technology in place to make the most of Agile, but over the last few days it's still been working out more expensive (marginally !) than Tracker (but cheaper over the month). It's worth me sticking with Agile for the time being because I'm not having to do anything special lifestyle wise and just using technology I already have in place. But if I either didn't already have the tech and/or I was having to do things like cook dinner at 03:00 I'd be over to Tracker before you could say "smart meters are great moneysavers"....

The hi-tec must be mind boggling ..AI no doubt.
But as before I wonder if the comparison is fair, between "short term" Agile and "medium term" Tracker.
I've yet to attribute any savings to my smart meter, sorry govt.Telegraph Sam

Significant leap for tomorrow - for me, 26.23p/kWh - looks like the highest since February?
Average UR for November - 20.19p/kWh.
(November 2022 - 23.92p/kWh, and that included the final three days of the month at the EPG reduced Tracker v2 UR cap of 33.07p/kWh)0 -
