So I guess my luck evening out now.0 -

FWiW, I take a long term view on price swings. If Tracker goes up and stays up, then Capped prices will also rise - albeit, with a few months delay. There does seem to be panic mode setting in, I just take it as it comes and havent even been checking tracker prices for a while. As I said in previous posts I think there is no assurance a cold spell means crazy prices as colder weather usually also brings more wind, and last winter was cheaper then last summer.
If it does get rough, I have my electric blanket as well, which is far more efficient than sticking on central heating. The old saying still applies, just turn things off if you cant afford it.I did look at my usage data as was working out fridge consumption and comparing, I happened to check gas as well. As probably noted in earlier posts of mine my typical gas usage in winter is not much higher than warmer months (likely primarily due to my constraint, put on more layers, use cheaper forms of heating if I do need heating) and my electric usage is barely any different at all.
Recently discovered from when I have been heating my water using my boiler, my boiler uses almost 1 KwH of electric when heating (would never figure that out without a smart meter). So with gas central heating it isnt just a gas cost, it can also on top still consume half the energy of a 2000 watt device to pump it around.0 -

You get one a month for electric, another for gas, and its doubled if using smart meters, so I get four a month.

When I went to https://octopus.typeform.com/to/bhA1D3SJ It came up with 'great, we'll send you a forecast twice a week, what e-mail address?' then question 3 was 'great, we'll send you weekly, what e-mail address?' - huh?0 -
As I understand it Tracker gas and electric charges me the average of the past month's spot prices. Is there any way of looking up / checking externally what these were?
