It is superb that Octopus have rewarded people taking the chance on their beta products with these extensions.

Another big tick int he OctoBox
That’s a big assumption. I am waiting to see what happens next month!  Renewals for Go (and the now defunct Go Faster) were always based on the tariff version in play at the time for most customers. Mistakes were made with renewals.
How can something that has been known to have been done/happened year on year and confirmed as having been done/happened this year be regarded an an assumption let alone a big  assumption.

The year was 2021 same year typo mistake, same do nothing get 12 months tariff extension .....

I have never been so  :) to see new tariff rates.  :p

I am pleased to be proved wrong: sadly, the same thing has never happened for me with Go or Go Faster. I wait with interest to see what happens when my renewal comes up in 3 weeks time.

19.37(elec) on the newest tracker for me today.

that's incredible that they are maintaining the SC on the older tracker versions.

I had my renewal email a few days ago as my Go Faster Dec 2019v1 is due to expire at the end of April. Thank goodness I was able to benefit from it over the past year, but had no expectations of it continuing. I've been told I will roll onto Flexible if I do nothing, but was offered sign-up links for the current versions of either Intelligent or Go. As I don't have an EV, and there's now the waitlist for Tracker, Agile is probably my best option over the next few months at least. Tracker would have been cheaper based on the current price trend and my consumption from spring/summer last year.

I wonder if part of the reason for not rolling over go like tracker v1 is to catch out the people on it without an EV?

It would no longer make sense for most of those without an EV to be on it at the current rates. Flexible E7 is the best way to get off-peak rates at the more convenient time of day, and is similarly priced as Go. They've axed the Go Faster customisable timeslots for everyone including EV owners. Personally, I couldn't make Go or Intelligent work for me anyway, but made good use of 3 hours from 3:30am @ 4.5p/kWh for heating and my morning shower.
If I had been on vanilla Go, I think they would have just rolled me on to the current version by default. There was absolutely no way they'd let people continue on rates as ridiculously cheap as 13.5p/4.5p whether or not they'd previously waved a lot of non-EV owners onto the tariffs. I consider myself extremely lucky to have kept those rates for an extra year due to a technical blunder on their part. The rates were supposed to have increased at my last renewal.

Someone on an expired GO tariff asked kindly if Octopus could renew it and they agreed, so in June I will chance it (expires in July), worst is they say no.

My friend who applied to Octopus two weeks ago to change from Flexible Octopus to Octopus Tracker got switched over to the gas tracker ok ijn a couple of days  but was told there would be up to 6 months to move onto the electric tracker ..up to six months ! looks like HotdealsUK has flooded Octopus .

Which has cost Octopus a huge amount of money
How has it cost them money? Its the market rate and they add a bit on top to cover their costs. You can see it in the dashboard.

This is a bit worrying lets say e.g. existing customers on tracker/agile expire and Octopus dont just renew, the option of then just jumping on the new tracker looks like it might be gone, Is the Agile tariff still closed? in which case potentially there would be just a move back to SVR and then a waiting list to get on the tracker if they refuse to renew. :(

Agile is still freely available, and subject to EPG (until that disappears).
