D'oh! I *meant* to say electricity. I was hoping there was a similar source to work out tomorrow's gas price. This is just for electricity, not gas.In theory, this is the one for gas, but the actual figure that Octopus uses rarely, if ever, quite seems to match, so we (or at least I) gave up trying to work out the next day's gas UR some time ago - maybe worth checking to see if it now tallies?

Which Index is best? None of them seem to match what I'd expect anyway. In theory, this is the one for gas, but the actual figure that Octopus uses rarely, if ever, quite seems to match, so we (or at least I) gave up trying to work out the next day's gas UR some time ago - maybe worth checking to see if it now tallies?0 -

It's related to one of the NBP D.A (day-ahead) prices, but sometimes there's a wide range and we couldn't work out which number to pick. For tomorrow (the 5th) here's a screencap:ChaunceyGardiner said:Which Index is best? None of them seem to match what I'd expect anyway.
Tomorrow's wholesale price used when calculating Tracker should be somewhere between 103-140p/therm, which is between 3.51-4.78p/kWh. When you add other elements that should give a price-to-the-consumer in Region H (mine) of 5.3-6.7p/kWh.We'll only know exactly where in that range (or even if it is at all) when Octopus publish the prices tomorrow.N. That's very helpful, thanks.

5.66p/kWh for me today (lowest in over 3 months!), which should mean a wholesale price of 117...?

While i have been on and off tracker for gas for years, i have never known how i find the prices, lol. with Agile it's easy, i can see all the 30mins slots with the prices. But as i use so little gas i have never looked into it before. My account says.......
"Octopus Tracker July 2022 v1
5.66p/kWh
27.22p/day
(All rates inc. VAT)"
Does this mean today i am paying 5.66 today please? and this changes daily yeah?

Yes, The App shows the daily rate and is updated each day.CanNeverThinkOfAUsername said:While i have been on and off tracker for gas for years, i have never known how i find the prices, lol. with Agile it's easy, i can see all the 30mins slots with the prices. The charge each month though becomes the blended daily rate * the unit usage. Octopus told me that you don't pay the day rate for that days usage, even with a smart meter. It's always a monthly blended unit rate.0 -
Which is incorrect. Last time I was on Tracker (earlier this year) they used the day rate for each day's usage. They only used an average if there were any gaps in the smart meter data. If I asked, they would fetch the missing data and recalculate the usage. It never deviated from actual usage by more than 10-15p in total, though.DeeQS said:

Great! Thanks for confirming. My Gas Smart meter has only just started reporting, so last months was blended and I asked if it would change now they have the smart meter data. They said no, but I can't confirm until the next bill. This is good to know!Umiamz said:

Yes, it's a bit of a lottery regarding the information you get from Octopus agentsDeeQS said:
