It will be interesting to see if the email ever arrives.0 -

If I click on the link in the App 'see your email' there is no email.

Please can someone explain to me how Octopus calculate the daily usage on Tracker? I am on v1, gas only, and have just received my first bill, for 28 days usage. Average price is 9.91p per kwh. As I don't have smart meters, I had assumed that they would simply take the total month's usage and divide by the billing period (28 days). But I've actually got a bill which lists my daily usage throughout the month, with daily usage rising a little as the month progresses (which make sense, given the onset of the colder weather). The range is from 6.61kwh to 11.01kWh.
I presume there is some fiendishly clever formula for this, but what is it?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

From the FAQhttps://octopus.energy/tracker-faqs/
If you don't have a smart meter, we use the readings you provide to calculate your usage each day, using industry data available from a third party (Elexon for electricity, and xoserve for gas).0 -

I presume there is some fiendishly clever formula for this, but what is it?They take to total amount for the period and apportion it on a daily basis 'using industry data available from a third party (Elexon for electricity, and xoserve for gas), they then work out the average daily UR for the month - the apportioned usage is applied to each day's actual UR.Don't know how accurate it's going to be, for me, in September, where the first half of the month was water heating only (as it had been for the previous couple of months), but with heating on for the second half of the month - does the 'industry data' take weather conditions into account, I wonder?

They changed my DD several days ago, no e-mail about that that. Which tariff(s) are you on? Odd that you haven't had communication about that though, Go etc. customers heard before Tracker/Agile even though nothing's changing for them.0
