QrizB said:Spoonie_Turtle said:Tomorrow will be cheap energy (ironic), does anyone know if the forecast is similar for the whole weekend? Obviously we'll try to make use of it by load shifting e.g. washing from Sunday to Saturday, but if it's likely to be cheap both days that would be very useful. Won't find out for certain until 9am tomorrow.
Rain is forecast for Sunday anyway, but useful to know some things that can't be load shifted will still be relatively cheap.

Could this possibly be the worst completely wrong answer that they could possibly give on a public platform
James Johnson on Twitter: "@OctopusEnergy can you please move my gas tracker tariff to apply the day rate to the days usage, rather than averaging over the month" / Twitter

It's not just Octopus, though. EE, Sky, Vodafone, it's often the same thing - misunderstanding a request and having to hang up and call back until you get somebody who understands.
To be fair, there are some real gems among the agents at Octopus who have sorted things out there and then.0 -
Existing Customer without EV who was coming to end of Go Faster 12 months, during July I got him to sign up to Agile 2018 version, within email reply CS noticed Agile signup and advised him not to switch to Agile.
Today customer sent twitter message asking about gas smart meter availability
"Are you on Agile Octopus intentionally? Sorry for my asking, I'm just not sure it's the best tariff to be on right now"

I thought I had understood the email with the new rates but now I’m not so sure. I’m on V.3 (40p/11p) so how do the new rates work for me? I initially thought that because my cap was 40p then that cap would be subject to the reduction of up to 17p to make a new cap of 34p but I’m not sure that is correct.
Have I got this right?
If electricity is less than 34p then I pay the actual rate.
If electricity is between 34p and 51p I pay 34p.If it is between 51p and 57p would I pay that amount minus 17p
If it is over 57p (40+17) would the 40p cap still apply?0 -

I initially thought that because my cap was 40p then that cap would be subject to the reduction of up to 17p to make a new cap of 34p but I’m not sure that is correct. For you on V3, electricity:
- If the calculated Tracker price is below 34p, you pay the price.
- If the price is 34p or over, you pay 34p.
And gas:- If the price is below 10.3p, you pay the price.
- If the price is 10.3p or over, you pay 10.3p.
In effect your 40p/11p cap has been replaced with a 34p/10.3p one.(The prices aren't exactly 34p or 10.3p, they vary by region.)0 -

I'm going to strike through my comment until I have reviewed other people's contributions to this thread.I've not yet received an email from Octopus regarding Tracker V3 rates, have you heard anything?Yes, the dynamic rate is the variable daily rate - it's called "dynamic rate" in your online Octopus account.N.
