From the 115 pages of this thread, I wonder how many are fryedslyce calling them incompetent.

They might know, they might not.  Maybe they know, but they've read this thread and now they're just persecuting you to see how far it can stretch.

However long do you expect them to take to tell you something they don't actually know??

And I will ask again, what is the rush (for you?)
Of course they know, if they don't know by now then that just proves their incompetence.

I bet you think the world is flat too and climate change is a lie?
No it's hollow and dinosaurs live inside.

So why wouldn't they say if they already know. Just to wind you up (which seems rather easy to do)?
Probably a mixture of arrogance and incompetence like most energy suppliers. Combine that with captive customers who can't really move away, and there is no incentive for good customer service.

Shhhhh! Don't tell them that we all already know what's happening, as octopus have already told us.

The thread is being kept alive by those 'in the know'

But you don't know what I know, and I know what you don't know, if you know what I mean.

I would suggest the delay to announce either way on these "specialised" tariffs is down to Octopus lobbying the Government to get them included in the price reduction.

Personally I don't think these types of tariff should be included but as Octopus are likely to eventually take on all the bulb customers perhaps there are bigger leverages being used in these discussions.

    You might get lucky.

Surely, there is a clue in the word ‘Tracker’: these are tariffs that track wholesale prices. Consumers want the immediate benefits when wholesale prices are low, and they then moan when a company-imposed Cap isn’t changed.

Having been on Tracker gas off and on for over 4 years, there are two things that Octopus might do: one, is they could review/amend their formula for converting wholesale prices into a retail prices and, two, they could look at the daily standing charge. A couple of years ago, Tracker tariffs didn’t have a Cap.

The third option is already present: a switch to the EPG-based tariff.
