having read the newbie instructions I am aghast at how much specific detail people are putting into their posts!
ANYWAY - parked in December, ANPR car park.  Paid for 1 hour on the app, realised was late, paid for another hour which was continuous.  Got screenshots to prove.  Left well before the time was up.

Nothing until debt collector letter in April demanding over £150 with the usual dire threats.  OK one knows the beef is with the parking firm and one should ignore the debt collecting hyenas but want to get the template right!!

We cannot advise unless we are supplied with all the relevant information.  Have you complained to your MP?

You don't deal with debt collectors as you state, if you have debt collector letters the time for the (template) appeal is well gone.  Next will be a letter of/before claim and then N1 court claim.  Have you moved since December and not updated your V5C?  Any other reason you are not getting post?

With a lot of this stuff you do not need to prove anything.  The balance od probabilities applies.  It is the claimant who has to prove something if challenged.

your rede is greatly appreciated everyone

One hasn't moved or changed one's car in this period.  It's a NCP site in Merseyside (being ultra cagey as per instructions)

The debt collector letter was literally the first one even knew of this issue!!

One has taken no steps yet!

Plan A is always the best option, a landowner cancellation.

Send an SAR to the PPC as per the NEWBIES. This should flush out the original NTK.

Are the details on your V5C correct, and were they at the time of the alleged event? Don't guess, go and check.
If the address on the V5C is correct, then include a copy as proof of ID with your SAR.

Where precisely did the alleged event occur? The site may have cropped up here before.

ok the site is the very big NCP next to Southport railway station.  Had same car since 2018 so V5 is 100% correct, one hasn't moved house

One can imagine the site has been on here a lot, it's huge

Did you check the V5C details or have you assumed it is correct?

Is it a station car park and therefore a railway asses covered by byelaws or is it a stand alone privately owned car park?

Have you done a forum search for the site? The search facility had an upgrade a while ago so is now absolutely crap, so an internet search adding moneysaving expert or mse to the search criteria might return better results.

    Edit
Was it London Street main car park, not the drop off/taxi/staff car park?
If so, it certainly looks like a railway asset therefore keeper liability cannot apply. If that is the case then it is imperative that the driver's identity is never revealed nor hinted at in any correspondence, or on here.
Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper.

it's the very big NCP, not the small permit holders only/drop off area
    Checked the V5 is correct
    greatly appreciate the assistance

    HOLD EVERYTHING
    I must have been dreaming
Found a V5 with the OLD ADDRESS on it
    oh dear sorry
was convinced it had been changed.
Moved house 3 years ago, the old place is rented out, tenant must have chucked letters in the bin
is there a way of checking with DVLA what address they hold for the owner, when YOU are the owner?
it's possible we got a new V5 and "put it away" somewhere
