I had a look at John Pye and got totally confused! So I caved, went to my go to Amazon and got a morphy Richards one (not the dear one)…that’s it now, no more silly spending in July (remind me, please 😬). I will class it as an early birthday present to myself. The food shop comes on sundays so I’ll have some time to ponder recipes and make sure there’s enough veg ready. So whoever it was that told me to have soup instead of crisps…your fault, yes you! 🤣 on the other hand, you can also take credit if I lose weight and start looking all healthy, so it’s not all bad 😂 Red pen AND gold stars all round!@warby68 mmmm soda bread! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I like tomato and lentil soup. I really need to ask my boss again what goes into it and try and translate the industrial quantities that are made into something normal for home use. I also like courgette and garlic cream cheese soup (you make the courgette soup then stir the garlic cream cheese in once it's cooked).2

Courgette soup is lovely, really creamy.I’m glad you took the plunge. I have soup for my lunch a lot, a habit I got into when I joined WW many years ago. It really helped me get to goal plus it helps keep me there too. I hope you enjoy it, much healthier and more filling than crisps and very economical too. As you get more confident you’ll be bunging all sorts in there 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Happy Tuesday. Just one day to pay day 🎉
thanks everyone for the soup chat and ideas. I’m excited to try it. Apologies for starting a soup revolution in summer, but I should be an expert by winter 😁.
It’s a little embarrassing that I’ve already spent something outside of budget for July while it’s still June, but hopefully it’s £45 well spent and will save lots of money over the years making nutritious additive free lunches(or dinners for us northern lot) 😁 So that’s very MSE of us!
I did have a look around Jack Pye and couldn’t find soup makers (could well have been doing it wrong) was completely amazed at the prices and completely confused about the extra costs, deliveries and how to find things. It was a weird and wonderful rabbit hole!
Today I have a monitor rest coming, like a small tray on legs type thing…it was a tenner and I don’t need it, but I’m trying to find something to put over my work laptop as the smallest cat keeps sleeping on it and I’m terrified it will break when it overheats. I close it once logged on and use a keyboard and monitor. I’ve tried lining it with hair brushes and all sorts of uncomfortable things..he just says challenge accepted and ropes in mission impossible style while I’m distracted…the next time I look up he’s curled up on it like a cute Velcro squirrel or some kind of liquid sticky bud that can’t be removed 😖🙄. I’m hoping he’ll take to the tray thing instead!Enjoy your days everyone ☀️🌸Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Happy Tuesday! Remember if you're making soup you need stock too. Stock cubes, stock powder, stock from cooked meat......that kind of thing.3

The soup maker should arrive tomorrow, but I don’t have much in to experiment with yet. I will need to get some store cupboard soupy essentials like lentils and herbs. In preparation for this healthy soup diet I ate a packet of m&m’s today 😳…obviously even the thought of healthy soups made me rebel! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Late to the party but I am a huge soup fan too. I had the MR soup maker and loved it, but the lid got water in it (be careful)
I have the Instant P0t so can't justify buying a new MR but I love the MR for its speed and simplicity.
I also lose weight when I have soup for lunch. On days when I want a bit more I have soup and 'bits' like dips and olives and raw veggies...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
