  • I rather like the new creeping in tradition of people leaving trees up even with just fairy lights into the depths of January, makes more use of the tree whether real or plastic, and brings a bit of glad tidings of comfort and joy to those inside and those who glimpse passing by. January is a long, dark, cold month, we need more glimmers of magic!

I have fairy lights and a lighted twig tree up all year round.

It's horrible when your fur babies get old. Our dog is almost 13 now and not as active as she used to be but can still run on the park when it suits her. She hates going out in cold weather and would become a couch potato if I let her.

I've not won anything on the PBs since I started buying them over a year ago. I'm starting to wonder if I'd be better off cashing them in and putting the money in a high interest account.

Thanks SA. I didn’t win on pb’s for ages when I first started and even now it’s very hit and miss. It must depend on your luck level and I know im not the luckiest, but there’s always the ‘but, what if I won’ niggle that keeps me sticking with them. I’m the same with the postcode lottery, it’s throwing money away, but imagine if the neighbours won and we didn’t 😅

    I hope WWDog is ok.

I'm not at all lucky on PBs but DH seems to be having a run of luck.  I threatened to withdraw all mine and add them to his account.  I like the potential to win, but I also like that they are easily accessible but just out of reach.  I don't dip into them like I do other savings accounts.

I tried getting premium bonds a while back but kept having agro with the site so gave it up as a bad job. I’m not sorry now, as the interests improved and since I’m not usually lucky I suspect i wouldn’t have won anyway.
Naughty doggie….testing you like that. Bet you were worried. It’s sad to see them grow old.
