I rather like the new creeping in tradition of people leaving trees up even with just fairy lights into the depths of January, makes more use of the tree whether real or plastic, and brings a bit of glad tidings of comfort and joy to those inside and those who glimpse passing by. January is a long, dark, cold month, we need more glimmers of magic!

Good morning and happy Saturday ✨
Tomorrow is decorating day, so today will be operation deep clean, followed by Strictly. I guess I should get up, but my motivation is lacking! I bought a cheap and cheerful shoe rack in the Black Friday sales which could be either very tall or side by side. It came like a box of Lego, but after some head scratching I managed to fit it together yesterday and it fits perfectly side by side under the coat rack. This was stage one in the cleaning for decorating as I had somehow amassed a pile of trainers and boots under my side table in the room, with no place for them to go. It was really getting on my nerves so money well spent. We can now plug in the tree without a pile of boots in the way 😁
I am still feeling the need to bake so must check what ingredients I need. I’m fancying trying to make some lemon drizzle muffins using the cake recipe, but with fancy buttercream and possibly a curd centre. Probably a bit ambitious, but it sounds so good in my head 😂

We got the tree up at the weekend, so the house is twinkly and Christmas ready 🎄✨🎅🏻
Sadly I didn’t win on the pb’s yesterday, not even a measly £25 😟 I hope Ernie does better in January! We have the Christmas present boxes being collected by the postman today and then that’s all done. I do have the cards to post, they are all written and stamped, but the Victorian post box in the village is set up for small missives, written with pen and ink pot, sealed with wax, rather than a normal sized card…so I have a feeling mine won’t get through the slot. I will have a walk down to try it…if not I’ll need to post them at the weekend.I was a bit worried about WWdog yesterday, she is getting so old now 😢 she sat down in the doorway and refused to go down the step, or come back in. Eventually I shuffled her back so I could not freeze to death with the door open, but she wouldn’t come back to bed either. I sat with her in the utility room as she was squeaking every time I left. Eventually MrWW popped home from work and she went out for him as nice as pie! She was telling me she couldn’t move and I was panicking, but apparently she was swinging it with me because she could. She seems ok this morning and is sleeping at my feet by the desk as normal. She’s a real mummies girl, but daddy isn’t to be messed with 😬
I hope you all have a great day 🎅🏻🎄Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

It's horrible when your fur babies get old. Our dog is almost 13 now and not as active as she used to be but can still run on the park when it suits her. She hates going out in cold weather and would become a couch potato if I let her.
I've not won anything on the PBs since I started buying them over a year ago. I'm starting to wonder if I'd be better off cashing them in and putting the money in a high interest account.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -

I hope WWDog is ok.
I'm not at all lucky on PBs but DH seems to be having a run of luck. I threatened to withdraw all mine and add them to his account. I like the potential to win, but I also like that they are easily accessible but just out of reach. I don't dip into them like I do other savings accounts."If you can dream it, you can do it". I tried getting premium bonds a while back but kept having agro with the site so gave it up as a bad job. I’m not sorry now, as the interests improved and since I’m not usually lucky I suspect i wouldn’t have won anyway.Naughty doggie….testing you like that. Bet you were worried.
