Thanks @Humdinger1, welcome back. Why do bookmarks do that! I’ve had a few like that. I don’t eat bread much (maybe once a month) as I found it was causing stomach issues, but I still want to eat all the other good things…sigh.
@dawnybabes the only good thing there is that you have a chance to buy presents in the sales 😁
I had a nice weekend, with a lunch out on Saturday and and unexpected snow shower on Sunday when I drove to the co0p for something I’d forgotten. I left in sunshine and got hit by a blizzard! I went for a walk when I got back in the hope of getting snowed on, but it didn’t oblige 😖
We have had snow today on and off, but sadly I’m at my desk, so couldn’t play out.
Ive done a bit of spending as I ordered the Christmas fizz and the remaining Christmas presents. I’m quite happy about that as, apart from some surprises for MrWW, I’m all done now. I can wrap, send and breathe a sigh of relief 😅
I hope you’ve all had a fantastic day.

Marvellous work getting Christmas buying done before December, well done you.
S'not fair you got snow, we've only got brr and torrential rain in London2 -
Well done on getting Christmas sorted! I'm almost there, just waiting to see if a few specific things come on offer in the black friday sales."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1

Thanks @PennysIntoPounds and @jwil. The only problem with buying early is seeing the deals I’ve missed later, but I think it’s worth it for the peace of mind. Plus, I can then keep an eye out for Black Friday deals for me 🤭 I would like a winter coat and boots, but the sizing keeps giving me pause. I’m that silly between size where a 12 could either fit beautifully or refuse to zip up and a 14 could fit nicely with a jumper under or look like I pulled it out of a skip. And boots are the same with a 6 and a half or a 7. This is the issue with not being able to get to a shop to try them on….and I’m often far too lazy to send things back! As it’s snowy this morning I am thinking about a warm coat that’s long enough to keep my knees warm 😁
Also on the Black Friday deals front I will stock up on cat food for a few months if I spot any money saving deals.Ynab is still working for me. I just have one niggle, in that I have set up fingerprint security several times, but it keeps just opening without it. I’m not sure why, but it’s annoying. Even if I close everything down, it still just opens without any security. On the good side I still have over £300 in my current account across several categories and some easy access just in case savings (for possible coat), which is pretty marvellous for me at this point in the month. And no pots have been raided!I am starting to worry a lot about the homeworking situation though, as the yearly review is in January and I expect I will have to fight for my post again.I hope you all have a fabulous day 🎅🏻Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Glad YNAB is working for you. Hope the work review is reasonable and not too painful! It's horrible worrying about these things."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

It’s awful having to keep worrying about work and having to fight for your job. Makes life stressful. I know Dh lived under the threat of redundancy for years and used to get so worked up and when it did happen it was the best thing that ever happened to him as he found a job closer to home where he was appreciated….that was over 20 years ago and he’s reluctant to leave and retire 😂😂 That a different situation than you though…..hope things stay as you want them to.Hope you find a coat and boots that fit you. The sizing is terrible on clothes 👍January spends - £587.583

Good morning and happy pay day eve. Thank goodness!Ynab is still good, but I had a few hiccups in the first month. I took from my pots to finish Christmas, but next month will be my month! I don’t feel comfortable looking at the totals right now, but once I pay everything back along with the monthly payments tomorrow I will be happier. I’m glad I’ve got Christmas completely done. I also bought a load of pet food in bulk on the Black Friday sales (over £350!!) which should save money again in the long run and will hopefully last through to February.MrWW bought me my coat and walking boots for Christmas. Luckily I went for a large/ size 14 equivalent coat and it fits perfectly with room for a jumper. I think breathing might have been tricky in a medium 😬
I also bought most of the monthly grocery items I usually buy in bulk in the Black Friday deals so should be set right through Christmas with pop, crisps and the oaty graze bars I grab for breakfast. This means I won’t allocate as much grocery spends for December and can pay that back to the pots instead. It’s definitely a work in progress and I’m always too tempted with a deal.I’m hoping to get the tree up on Sunday and I need to clean out the kitchen tray cupboard as I have some new baking trays and a turkey / roast tin coming. All my trays are old and manky and rusty now, so they are being replaced for Christmas (MrWW has bought them as he does like to eat 😅). I am feeling in a baking mood too…it won’t help the calorie counting, but I really want to bake things…I guess I watched too much GBBO!I hope you are all having a good week. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Agree always size up with a coat especially a winter one, got to feel comfortable especially bulky jumpers and scarves. Might start putting the decorations up as well this weekend, years ago would never think to put it up till about the 15th dec, at the earliest. Mind you everybody seems to take them down just after Boxing Day now, how times have changed.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.004
