@Chocolatefund it’s the extra weekend that kills it for me, but you are right of course 😅 You don’t need to hide, but come the Friday before pay day I might scowl at you a bit 🤭🤣Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I stewed some plums this weekend, very easy and lovely with some ice cream. You could even prep this and freeze it in dessert sized batches for the winter?KKAs at 15.07.25:

Awww, I miss our plum & greengage trees, long removed due to disease.
Making jam is straightforward & doesn't require all the paraphanalia people often think it does. I have seen preserving pans in charity shops from time to time. I have my Nana's old pan, a jam funnel & use a wooden spoon. The packs of jam jar covers are inexpensive & I save jars to re-use. With a pretty fabric or giftwrap topper tied with ribbon or rustic string, home made preserves can make a nice gift for people. Plum jam is nice as it is or can have spices added to make a quite festive-tasting variety.
I also used to make a plum cake, which works as a dessert too & there will be plenty of plum chutney recipes online. Plum & cinnamon muffins would be nice & although I've never made it myself, it's possible to make Chinese style spicy plum sauce.
I'm going to need to get seriously busy in rhe kitchen myself today, but not with plums.....my current priorities are pears, blackberries & tomatoes.
Off to get my pinny on!

Thank you all for the plum inspiration! At the moment I’m just eating them, but I will seriously think about some baking or preserving at the weekend.I received two small pb wins, a £50 and a £25. Better than last month, but sadly nothing life changing.Today is WWDogs 14th birthday 🎂. I haven’t got her anything as her days are filled with treats from morning to night anyway and she stopped carrying teddies around a few years ago (I miss that). She will have a normal day filled with fattening treats she shouldn’t be having…just like any other day 😁 She is snoring at my feet next to my desk just now, sleeping off her breakfast. I wish I could keep her forever.I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday filled with wonderful things ⭐️☔️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
