It’s in! What a palaver though. At one point it sounded like Fawlty towers was being re-enacted in the kitchen. The back door had to be taken off its hinges to get it in, then after the deliverers had gone MrWW had to work out the plumbing and spent several years aligning the doors. He managed to smack his elbow and get wire stuck in his thumb, there was much cursing…so much cursing 😬. I kept getting called in for this and that so finished early in the end. It took so long that we ended up blowing calories out of the water with an Indian takeaway and wine…and then an icecream sandwich … oops. The ff looks amazing though, it’s so lovely and shiny and new 😬.We must chase the refund on the install and package removal though! It’s the first big diet fail for weeks, so tomorrow I will climb back on the wagon 😅Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Happy new fridge freezer! (Sounds like the fraught-fallout might take a while to settle! Poor Mr WW’s thumb!)
Hope you enjoy your day off today 😊

Happy Saturday everyone. We didn’t go out yesterday, but I enjoyed my day off and had a nice solitary walk to get my steps in and then we watched a film. Today we got the food shop and placed it lovingly in the ff, then I had a rethink and a shuffle around (the food, not me). Where do you all store your raw meat (if applicable)? I have put mine in one of the salad drawers at the bottom, just having it on a shelf feels a bit too exposed to contamination (in their original supermarket packaging), but the drawers seem to be earmarked for fresh produce. After that excitement and then cooking a fakeaway lunch (the same as we’d individually order if we went out, but cheaper…yet more work for me 😬) I then went for another solitary walk in the very cold rain. I have made it to 10k steps, so happy with that.I’ve spent some money on ordering birthday presents today, but all expected and budgeted for.I hope you’ve all had a great weekend so far ⭐️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I just keep raw meat on the bottom shelf. It's all in plastic anyway, so not harmful unless it's leaking."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2

Happy Sunday to you all. I took my car for a drive and filled up the tank. I’m a ‘half a tank is dangerously empty’ person so it was just under three quarters and cost £34 to fill with diesel, so that wasn’t bad. It seems to be going down in price a touch just now. I’d estimated £50 so feel like I’m winning. I moved the £16 to the garage fund. Then I went for my march around the countryside, and as I was low on steps to start with, I also added in a beach walk. So I’ve ended the day over 10k steps with a bit of effort. I even dodged most of the rain, although it did feel cold. Other than that, some washing, cooking and normal jobs I don’t have much to report. I hope you’ve all had a good day ✨I was sad to see the MIchael Mosely news, even though it wasn’t likely to have had a happy ending after all of this time. It just shows no matter how fit and confident you are, when your time is up, it’s up. I feel I should remind my fellow steppers that we should never forget our phones when we venture out alone, even if it means doubling back for it! So very sad.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Good reminder to make sure we always utilise the fact that mobile phones can be literal lifesavers. When I eventually get to switching my old phone to Mr PIPs old but nowhere near as decrepit phone, I must put What 3 Words back on there. I think I never go anywhere interesting enough to need it, but it's the app the emergency services use and it's stupid to not have it available if one's phone can make space for it.
You're doing so brilliantly on your steps! I'm most impressed. Great you could put some money in the garage fund too 😊

Nothing much to report over here. Plenty of work and some spending has been done on presents (all accounted for) and fritterings 😬 I am looking forward to receiving some new stay warm cups (with a nifty handle for easy carrying if I feel like coffee on my step counting walks), some cheapy eyeliners and a mirror! All from my spending money though, so I’m happy with that and it cheered me up on a work day 😅
I have booked my car mot and service in for the beginning of next month. I have enough in the car pot to cover it, with some left over ‘just in case’. They quoted £411 for the service and mot fee together and I have £800 in the pot, so I’m pleased that pot is working well right now. I do need to fill my heating oil pot, but it won’t go down too fast over summer, so I have some time yet.

Nothing more satisfying than an expense appearing and having the pot to deal with it … 😊👏

Thanks @KajiKita. Some time ago my pots crashed and burned and I’d taken them all down to zero with bad budgeting and spendy times, so it does make me happy to see how far I have come from that. I do only have £20 in the Christmas pot, so need to make a bit of an effort there over summer too.I move £300 to pots each month, but allocate it out according to what is needed next, rather than a set amount per pot. I’ll do it the other way once I’m ahead of the game in all categories 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
