A walking pad is like a mini treadmill. They take up a lot less space and are great for nasty weather days 😁

Well done on the walking pad use. How long would it take to do 10,000 steps on it. Could you do a short session before and after work to get the steps in, if that’s what is helping. I chickened oit of SW this week. I ate very badly over the bank holiday and didn’t  even enjoy most of it. So I’m trying to do a bit of damage limitation before next week. I was going to go but had a bit of a busy day so used that as an excuse not to go.

Where did you get your walking pad from ?
Does it feel strange with no handles to hold onto

I’m not sure how long 10k steps would take, I need to time it. When I did 45 mins I think I got about 5k, but that was a decent speed without being too fast. It does have a handle you can fix upright which helps to steady you. I don’t know where it came from as MrWW placed the order from somewhere he could get a discount from.
I managed to get 10k today by marching around the house a lot. The family arrived, but the trip has taken a lot out of my mum. Her first words were ‘I’m not coming up again’ so it bodes well 😬 We met them later for a meal at the place they are staying, but mum gave it a miss, although she did pay for the meal, so I just left the tip. I’m not sure how much I’ll see of her for the 3 full days they are up.
The chicken and chorizo spicy pasta was good, but the berry cranachan wasn’t my favourite. The choices were a bit limited as they were short staffed so were running a smaller menu.

Oh your poor mum, she sounds like me every time I have to go anywhere! Very nice of her to pay for the meal, which does not sound like me every time I have to go anywhere 😂

Are there any opportunities in the next few days for you to go to her and just have some chill time watching a programme or sharing a bottle of wine and reading or doing a short walk identifying bird sounds and trees or similar? Nothing too big if she's feeling worn out but just getting some gentle quiet time together?

I think we’ll have to play it by ear. She wouldn’t be able to walk anywhere much, but is wanting to put her toes on an easily accessible beach. She seems very 80 all of a sudden. How did that happen 😢

Hopefully your Mum is feeling a bit better today.

10k steps is around 5 miles, so knowing how long it would take you to walk that is a good rough guide. 45 minutes for 5k sounds about right.

Mum was much brighter today thank you. We went to a lovely bakery place for lunch where I had a huge biscuit and before that had coffee and a muffin for elevenses. I think I must have eaten double my maintenance calories with the meal tonight 😖 This afternoon everyone went back to the hotel to rest and MrWW watched tv at home…and I marched around the local tracks getting my steps in 😢 I ended the day on over 12k, so I’m hoping that will stop that yo-yo pound from throwing itself back around my stomach!

The yo-yo pound is back! I was so pleased yesterday that it had entirely gone, but this morning it came back in its entirety. Is this my life now? 😅 I’m hoping it’s just food weight I haven’t digested yet, I did eat more calories than I should, but I didn’t go totally wild…sigh!
This morning mum has a headache and couldn’t make it to hotel breakfast, so I am just waiting for my sister and BIL to finish breakfast and report back on a plan.
I can’t quite believe how quickly my week off went. I have Monday off, but am back at work on Tuesday. I feel like I blinked and missed most of the week.
I hope you all have a great Saturday ☀️🌷
