I always dread the thought of being back at work after time off but it’s surprisingly not as bad as I think after a few hours.

Glad your mum enjoyed her visit in the end.

That’s a long journey for your mum. Bet she was shattered. Glad she enjoyed the meal.
Hope work wasn’t too bad and you’ve managed to catch up after your time off.

I think (touch wood) I may have just about cleared the backlog at work, hurrah! What a stressful and busy week so far. I managed to get 7,000 steps yesterday and today, but it was a struggle with lots of marching around after work. Marching around the garden seems harder work than a proper walk, it’s very odd. I’ve been sticking to the calories and have dropped some of the holiday weight,I just have 1 pound left and then I’ll be back to where I was. MrWW has decided to join me in the dieting, which I find very hard work 😅 It consists of me listening to him have a hangry strop when he sees what he gets for his calorie's. I appreciate and share the sentiment, but he has more available calories than I do 😢
The family are all happy at home now and mum seems chirpy 🤭
it’s been boiling here today. We are cooling down with ice pops ☀️
I hope you have all had a good day 🌷

I had a bit of a splurge this morning and ordered a summer jacket from M&S (like a denim one but green) and the summer beauty bag. It’s such a treat to try the posh things for a much cheaper price 😁 Then I ordered some sandals from am*zon which were really close to the jones the bookmaker ones on the M&S site, but a third of the price. I don’t like to spend a lot on sandals as for me they get grubby quicker than winter footwear and are much harder to clean.
I am just breaking for salad with low fat cottage cheese for lunch, then a series of meetings this afternoon. The weather here is glorious!
I hope you are all having a great day ⭐️🌷

Poor Mr WW. I bet it’s a shock to his system…will it make it easier for you though if you’re having the same meals.
The M&S buys sound great as do the sandals 👍

Look at the time! Work was busy this morning, but quiet enough in the afternoon that I sloped off at 3.30 on flexi time. The weather was glorious and I dried 3 lots of washing, so that was good.
MrWW is on his second day of eating healthily and he’s being pretty good. He somehow lost 3lbs this week. Of course I’m not jealous that it will take me a month to lose what he can in a few days…not at all! I managed to get 9k of steps in, so I’m fairly happy with that as it’s hard to get them in on a work day.
Dog Managed to tip her kitchen water dish all over her kitchen rug, so it’s currently hanging on the line overnight being darked on. It’s a big rug that’s only there for her so she can get up and down easier. As it’s hot we have been giving her a drink in the kitchen to save her walking down the hall to her big water dish (an easier place for her to drink normally as it’s close to my office and the bedroom) but somehow she managed to completely tip the supplementary dish as it’s a lot lighter. Maybe she stood in it getting up, I’m not sure 😬 At least the rug soaked it up 😁
i hope you have all had a good day ☀️

  • Maybe she was having a paddle to celebrate the glorious weather! Could you send some to London please, it's been mostly grey with some rain or a chill wind here while everyone else seems to have been having lovely weather, and the forecast for the weekend is even worse. If you get nice weather you are obliged to go for an enjoyable stroll on behalf of your pal who will be scowling in her big cardi 😁

I love scowling in a big cardi @PennysIntoPounds, it’s one of my favourite workday pastimes 😅 I think it was forecasting a greyer day today, so maybe the sun will move down to you?
I need to get some food shopping today and get my steps in, other than that, I’m not sure what I’ll be doing as I’m unsupervised and running wild.
I’m pondering a replacement American style fridge freezer as ours is dodgy and I fear on its last legs. It’s a bit of a dictator and won’t allow temperature changes and decides if ice will be cubed or crushed at random intervals. We just hear it ping as it changes its personal selection 😬 we are ridiculously grateful if it’s giving us the right ice. MrWW will say ‘oh good it’s on crushed’ as we are so used to having no choice in the matter 🤣 They don’t supply the parts to fix it any more and we’ve been limping along for over a year. The trouble is, I really want a rather fabulous expensive replacement. It seems quite decadent, but if it lasts as long as this one we would get our money’s worth. I think I will measure the place it sits and see if it’s the right size.
i hope you all have a lovely day ⭐️🌷☀️

Still grey, raining and chilly here *scowls in big cardi* 😁
Measuring the space is a good first step towards making a decision! Do you have money spare for it or will it be a savings target?

I do and I don’t 🤭. I have a car fund, which I don’t have enough in for a new car, but don’t need to use  yet. I could raid it for house things and the garage roof mending, it’s just if I should? And if I would have the drive to resave it quickly enough 😖
