Hmm, I would prob say save as much as you can to a fridge fund until it actually stops working, you've been working on your car pot for ages and it would be a shame to allocate it elsewhere unless you really need to.
You can live with despotic ice, the house isn't falling down, and the garage being done up and usable will be brilliant but isn't quite as pressing as a fridge that works.
Is it time to rediscover enthusiasm for surveys, online sales, and putting any money you were *about* to spend on things you don't strictly need into Winter Warrior's Fabulous FridgeFreezer Fund?!

Is there such a thing as an ice maker machine that stands alone? Would probably be a whole lot cheaper than replacing your fridge freezer especially if the rest of it works fine. Or could you just buy bags of crushed ice/ice cubes.

I love scowling in a big cardi @PennysIntoPounds, it’s one of my favourite workday pastimes 😅 I think it was forecasting a greyer day today, so maybe the sun will move down to you?
I need to get some food shopping today and get my steps in, other than that, I’m not sure what I’ll be doing as I’m unsupervised and running wild.
I’m pondering a replacement American style fridge freezer as ours is dodgy and I fear on its last legs. It’s a bit of a dictator and won’t allow temperature changes and decides if ice will be cubed or crushed at random intervals. We just hear it ping as it changes its personal selection 😬 we are ridiculously grateful if it’s giving us the right ice. MrWW will say ‘oh good it’s on crushed’ as we are so used to having no choice in the matter 🤣 They don’t supply the parts to fix it any more and we’ve been limping along for over a year. The trouble is, I really want a rather fabulous expensive replacement. It seems quite decadent, but if it lasts as long as this one we would get our money’s worth. I think I will measure the place it sits and see if it’s the right size.
i hope you all have a lovely day ⭐️🌷☀️
Have you ever checked how much fridge freezer costs to run? Those old American fridge freezers are meant to be incredibly expensive to run😱

Thank you for all the sensible outpouring of advice. I love you all! You are quite right, I should not access the WW car fund. I did start a garage roof fund (it’s a pitiful £100 so far), so may rename it the fancy fridge fund. I have suggested to MrWW that we go halves, which would be much nicer for me and we do already have 360 in the general house fund. SA that is very sensible, but as we already have a perfect American fridge freezer space and the plumbing under the tiles for the existing ff water and ice it would seem a massive shame not to use them both….but equally only when we have the extra funds or the old one dies. You are lovely, thank you for the collective head wobble 😅 MFW I did spot how badly energy rated they are!
it has been much greyer today. I managed to get 14k steps with the food shop, a big walk and changing the bedding. I’m equally shocked and proud 😁

Good morning and happy Tuesday ☀️
ok, so I did a thing 🤭 MrWW found the fridge freezer in a different finish for £200 less and with discounts and free delivery and connection it’s over £300 less. It comes at the end of the month. Using the joint house fund and splitting the difference, the remaining amount I needed to add was £440 and I could take that from my general savings pot without touching the pb car fund. My accounts are looking rather wan this morning, but I will top them back up on pay day. So quite a spend, but from available funds, so I’m ok with that. I will have to get saving again for my garage roof/orangery/garden ‘thing’.
I only managed 7k steps yesterday and that was hard enough. Today might be harder still as it’s very meeting heavy.
I hope you all have a good day, please feel free to tell me off 😅
