I think the key thing is choose to enjoy what you decide to have, eat it slowly and enjoy every mouthful (as in taste it, not guiltily throw it in), and make it the exception and not an excuse to eat badly for the next week or three if you are anything like me.

Good morning and happy Saturday 🐣🌷
Unfortunately yesterday the restaurant had taken salads off the menu so I had a fabulous prawn cocktail for a starter, which was delicious, but then I was a bit full and didn’t do justice to the main course. I chose chicken goujons as they came with fries, but when it was delivered to the table it had hand cut chips on 😮 I was brave and said that it was thin fries on the menu and that’s what I’d ordered and was hoping for, so she whisked it away and after a brief wait, while MrWW dug into his so it didn’t get cold, she came back with the right order. I think the disappointment on my face could have been seen for miles 🤣 The fries were excellent, but I was too full to enjoy much of the goujons. I rounded it off with coconut rice pudding, which smelled better than it tasted, as it was on the cool side and was giving tapioca vibes in consistency. I had about a third of it as there was a lot. It was ok, but I wouldn’t choose it again. So a mixed bag, but the excellent starter and fries made it all worthwhile 😁
We then popped to get a small food shop and came back to watch Barbie as it’s on the movie channel now. I enjoyed it, but I was expecting a bit more after all the Oscar’s hype.
I have absolutely no idea what to do today…I am unsupervised and running wild!
I hope you all have an excellent day ⭐️✨🌷

I'm sorry that lunch was disappointing. Did you bring any chicken goujons home for Dog? (Cat wants to know  - she loves chicken but not quite as much as prawns).

Alone and unsupervised you say? Maybe a wardrobe sort out?  I have a try on of most of my clothes now and then just to check fit, check for any damage etc and to see if I have anything that has nothing that it goes with. It's like shopping but free and mostly the items that you're trying on are things that you like. I sort what fits, what will fit if I lose a little bit of weight and things that will require a miracle for me to get into but I'm not quite ready to give up hope just yet.

I've said I'll take the HT out for a drive later as it's sunny here. It's a bit like your dog drives were but with less sniffing.

I hope you find something good to do 😊

I did bring the goujons home @cranky, but they were a bit greasy at that point and no one wanted them, not dog, nor any cats…so they went outside and were scooped up by the seagulls. Luckily a shortbread biscuit came with each coffee and dog was very eager to dispose of those…now we were talking!
I took my car for a drive in the sunshine, as I need a regular outing for its duff battery. Beautiful sunshine, but also farm traffic and some early holiday makers out there. I do miss dog wanting to come for drives, but she won’t be lifted and no longer jumps in 😢
i am going to get some steps in and oil my hair, but a wardrobe check in sounds fun!
I hope you have a lovely drive later.

Your starter and main course sounded lovely - not sure about coconut rice pudding though. Not sure why as I like them both but can’t visualise them together for some reason.
Hope you manage to amuse yourself whilst Dh is working. The sunshine has been a bonus around here but it’s still been chilly.

Food has to be pretty nasty to fail the labrador test. we use to try out my sister's school cookery on the dog. Anything that failed the "lab test" went straight in the bin 🤣🤣🤣

How annoying your meal out didn’t live up to expectations 😞 I often find I don’t enjoy food out as I can make better at home. It’s a shame when you look forward to it and pay quite a bit for it. I often have two starters rather than a main, I never do desserts.
