We won very little when the interest rates were low - even though it was in his 'luckier' name -and we now earn more in tax free ISA interest than we ever did in PB return. I'd invest again if I get back to the point where it is sensible from a tax perspective, but day to day it was my worst investment. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I don't win anything either, though I did get 3 wins the first year I had them. I like to dream though"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Good morning and happy Friday. ✨🌷
Payslips were out today and I realised I was expecting the NI reduction….that doesn’t come into force until 6th April 😬 So it was just the same as last month…sigh!I have already done my April budget and was going to tweak the figures, but don’t need to now. I just need to see how much the oil will be.I’m hoping for a 3.30 finish tonight as I am over this working week…over it, I tell you 🤭
If that goes to plan then I will get some steps/moving in before I need to make tea. Yesterday I only made 3k steps, which is abysmal, even for a really full on desk day.I hope you all have a fantastic Friday, full of good things ⭐️✨Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Good morning and happy Saturday ⭐️ It’s still very windy today!MrWW is at work, but I am trapped in today as there is a parcel due (from mum) and MrT delivery this afternoon. So I will plan to get out tomorrow instead. Even L*dl is a nice change of scenery at this point 😖
So today I plan to oil and then wash my hair, change the bedding, clean the kitchen and generally try to get as many steps in as I can. I could also do my nails as last weeks attempt did not last! I have no idea where I’m going wrong.I did order some more zinc supplements yesterday as mine are running low. Touch wood, I haven’t had a cold for about 3 yrs and I do think the multivitamins and zinc tablets help my immune system (along with living in the back of beyond). If there’s an apocalypse or a zombie takeover I think I’m in a good place, but for day to day living it’s a bit on the dull side. I know I need to make my own excitement, but I’m struggling. I guess it’s just a stage of life, with long work days, overlapping shifts for MrWW, a rural location I didn’t grow up in and have no real connections to and an elderly dog thrown into the mix, I feel quite meh!Well that turned into a Saturday moan didn’t it!Let’s jazz this up with some gratitude….I'm loving my hair oiling routine (forest & shore), I’m really happy with wildmint 5 step face care and the wild deodorant that I discovered a few years ago, they are both very low on plastics and work very well for me. I am loving the Cornish seaweed company shampoo and conditioner, which at first glance look very expensive (to me), but last a very long time and have made a big difference (also minimal plastic). I love my kindle and use it for hours and hours every day…the sheer miracle of downloading a new book instead of having to hope my dad would take me to wh smiths on a Saturday and hoping I had enough pocket money for a new book, or waiting for a family trip to the library. This is what progress is all about! The wonderful country views from my windows, the wild rabbits and pheasants in the garden and the proximity to wild empty beaches. The fact that I can afford chocolate whenever I like (even though I shouldn’t 😬).There, I’m sure there are lots more, that should even out my moany moans 😁 Thank you for sticking with me through all of that 😁
I hope you all have a brilliant day 🌷☀️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Love the gratitude lists!
Are there any local exercise classes you could go to? It might help a bit with the social and your fitness goals?"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
There probably are in the main town, I should check it out. I know when I looked before, most things were during the working day! I think tbh I’m a bit scared of meeting new people, the thought of joining something new is terrifying…which is a brilliant reason to try I suppose! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

When I used to go to an actual gym for exercise classes most people went on their own. You just get chatting to those you recognise as the weeks go by. Mind you I talk to anyone, I just like talking 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Good morning and happy Sunday 🌷
I finished yesterday on 10,837 steps! I was waiting in for deliveries so this was basically me stamping around all day (even while watching a bit of tv I was bouncing around in circles), so it is possible, but not with 8 or 9 hours of desk sitting added in. I need to pop to L*dl today, but will aim for something similar. My Fitbit estimated I had burnt almost 1000 calories more than I’d consumed, so this is clearly the key to shifting the weight. 3500 deficit a week apparently equals 1 pound loss.My mum kindly sent me a Betty’s box with 6 iced fancies in. Upon weighing them I found they are 257 calories each and MrWW had one and didn’t rate it 😮 They are very sweet, but delicious, so I will need to work one into my calories until they are gone. I did have one yesterday 😁 There are also some Easter biscuits, but they will need to wait until the fresher cakes have gone! After the L*dl trip I will work out what I have left in the bank for shuffling as I shouldn’t need to spend anything else before Thursday pay day.I hope you all have a stupendous Sunday full of good things 🌷☀️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Will the cakes freeze? Then you could have one say as a Sunday treat.3
