  • Welcome back WW <3 Sorry to hear work have been giving you a tough time....so ridiculous to push redundancy and/or return to office when the quality of your work is not in question and you worked from home pre-Covid. Hope all else is well in your world.

Just look at how my pads add up - even a couple of £ to your savings each day will soon make a difference.  Celebrate the small wins!

  • Afternoon WW and friends
Lovely to see you back WW :) Sorry to hear you had an awful time at work and glad you are getting back your savings mojo.
My previous job insisted post Covid that we all return to the office 3 times a week; I had to attend evening meetings too so I ended up leaving. I've been in my 'new' job a year now - they still haven't recruited to my former job despite advertising it 3 times!
Those apple turnovers sound delicious and dead easy to make

  • Those apple turnovers sound absolutely delish!
  • I think I would definitely be looking around for a new job, ideally for late this year to see if they try the "voluntary" redundancy thing again at the review point. Well done in keeping your chin up and fighting back.

  • Good morning ☀️
One day until pay day! I transferred £2 to savings (£1 in savings and £1 in m.o.t./car pot) leaving me the princely sum of one whole British pound in my current account until tomorrow 😅
I have planned out a pretty harsh budget and savings scheme for February, leaving myself £150 for anything ad hoc I might need and spending money. I do need a complete reset. This will allow me to put £500 back in pb’s to pay back some of my ‘bad, bad saving removal’ and £400 into sinking funds….which are currently a few pounds instead of the hindered they should all be sporting right now!
On to happier things….has anyone tried hair and scalp oiling? I am trying it just once a week a few hours before washing as I think sleeping in it would be a disaster, but I really want the glorious manes I keep seeing on TikTok! I have been plaiting my hair before bed as apparently the damage and breakage can be done shuffling around (on a non silk pillowcase), but the down side to that is cold ears 🤭 I haven’t splashed out on the expensive stuff, but got some nice oil with rosemary and other good things in and am seeing how I go.
@KeepOnKnitting I’m a bit stuck with this, it’s sensible advice, but if they make me leave then I do want the pay out, rather than just leaving in a huff for a possibly lower paid position. I have worked there since leaving school in the 80’s so the thought of starting again somewhere else fills me with dread…I think I’m institutionalised at this point 😖 But if I need to, then I need to. I’m hoping the policies will change at some point..
I hope everyone is having a good day? ⭐️
