Happy Sunday everyone ☀️I plan to have a reset and have a full week of no unnecessary spends. So starting tomorrow I will be sobbing on here if I stick to the plan 🤣 I’ve been small scale frittery, but it all adds up and is no good for my long term plans.
As Mr Ramsey says ‘act your wage’ 😁
MrWW is in a mood and has been grouchy for days 🙄 He keeps chuntering to himself in other rooms and telling the pets off for, well, being pets 😖 So that’s been fun! I may have to turn to drink 🍹

Good morning. I'm always telling the cat off for doing cat things - clawing the leather sofa and more recently the new ottoman is a prime example. Has Mr WW got a face on because you used your windfall for your own stuff or is he just generally fed up?2

and possibly a bit of both. There have been several references to my savings. I have been saying I’m not thinking about them, they don’t count. I think I won’t mention when I build on them, the starting amount is clearly stuck in his mind, so hopefully that will be the extent of his disgruntledness. He’s had more to spend out of it than I have anyway as I repaid my loans and the money I gave him was used on his hobby (and then some). I treated myself to £25 more premium bonds yesterday..now I have £50 😁
I can’t wait for payday! I cancelled the loan dd’s off my dd list on online banking…that was satisfying! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Love 'act your wage'If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

@doingitanyway me too…I think I need to frame Act Your Wage in front of my face some days!
another of his sayings I like is that millionaires don’t get rich from earning points, so spending to get cash back or whatever is a false economy unless you really need it and it isn’t cheaper elsewhere.
Some of his ideas are a bit American and a bit goddy, but some are gold!

Does Mr WW want you to spend your savings? Mr SA always want to spend money not save it, I don’t tell him how much there is stashed away, best he doesn’t know.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Ahh, so it is the money then. He'll get over himself eventually. There's no point falling out with him over it. Surely it's better for him if all of your debts are paid off. You'll be more free to save up for other things too - things that could benefit both of you like holidays etc. My HT is only 16 but he sees the need to get the debts paid off now that I'm working.
My friend in Japan has five cats and an appropriate number of litter trays but has exactly the same problem as you. It's probably a territory thing? One of hers peed inside a house guest's handbag once. It was a good job that it was a very close friend who also loved cats. Ours puked in one of my good handbags once.3 -

I don’t think he wants to admit it out loud, but seems a touch resentful. He does have a lot to clear off, but mostly because he will happily sign for anything so he can have it now. When we first got together he would buy me occasional gifts as he had a lot of overtime, etc. As his outgoings increased I said to concentrate on paying down his cards, etc. instead. So the gifts stopped (£1-200 not thousands 😁), but I fear the extra just went on man toys instead. He has something to cash in next year which will clear all of his, so I am determined not to get worried about it. I’ve tried to introduce him to spreadsheets and budgets, but each to their own! This time next year should see us both clear and then I’m hoping we can overpay the mortgage which we share equally.
I agree with the cat territory thing, I always had all girls or a single boy with the girls, but somehow I’ve now ended up with all boys…they are devils! The only blessing is they don’t spray, maybe because they were neutered really young, or because they’ve never been outside. Puking from heights is the worst, why do they do it? The one that we have left is like a real life pusheen so tends not to be able to reach much in the way of heights but our living room rug is usually considered fair game. Her long legged half Burmese half sister was a different matter though. I tried everything to keep her off the top of the kitchen cupboards but she could slither into the tinest space. Apparently they feel safer when they're high up. Greedy guts here has what we call "the puke miaow". It's very loud and the first one to hear it grabs her and puts her either in the kitchen or the back garden.
Fingers crossed that MrWW gets his own lightbulb moment.2
