We have four different lots. The fortnightly food/garden waste, the the three weekly paper, bottles (plastic & glass) & general waste. They usually send us a leaflet telling us how much we save (over general waste) for all the others. It is a good job they send emails out for what is due when.

I was speaking to a friend who is a nursery nurse yesterday and she said nurseries currently rely on the babies and toddlers to survive, as they make no money in the 3 and 4 years old who have the 30 hours of government funded care currently. She reckons unless the government massively increase the amount they pay nurseries, expanding the 30 hours to all little ones from 9 months will lead to a massive amount of nursery closures. We don't live in an expensive part of the country either, so places like the southeast with be totally scuppered.
I absolutely think early years child care should he free, but it's not going to work with the current system.Live the good life where you have been planted.

Good morning and happy Sunday. Happy Mother’s Day everyone. I know some of us don’t fit into that box for various reasons, but we still spend a lot of time mothering…whether that’s step children, our pets, husbands, etc. and fall through the cracks with no day of appreciation at all. I know my dog would make me a card if she could….the cats would tell me to get a grip (which is fair enough 🤣)
I did lots of steps yesterday, stuck to the calories…went up half a pound this morning 🙄 The ‘ups’ are so annoying, but there’s always a ‘down’ in a day or two.I did a lot of decluttering yesterday of another drawer…90% of the old mail was MrWW’s. I filled a bag for recycling and have a pile I’ll need to shred. I need 19 items today and I’m still not struggling.I also did some work in the garden, dragging cut branches to ‘the pile’, so that helped with the steps.
I’ll take dog for a drive today if she’ll get in. A small Tesco order is coming later. I need to do the decluttering, other than that I have no plans for my final day off (apart from to avoid F1 while it’s blasting out later).
I hope you all have a good day ☕️🌟Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Happy Sunday 🙂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Fairly sure you're Dog's mum 😊 I'd love a labrador cuddle - they're so enthusiastic, especially if you approach bearing food 🤣 Traditionally Mothering Sunday means that you attend a service at your "Mother church" where you were christened. The nearest parish church or cathedral (if you happen to have one knocking around) will do at a push. It has been kidnapped to suit the greetings card manufacturers agenda.
The HT appeared home at 2am this morning, said "Happy mother's day" and went to bed. There will be a small gift lurking somewhere in the pit of doom formerly known as his bedroom and he's taking me for a coffee later.
The technical reason for your weight going up after a "lots of steps" day is that your muscles hold on to water to help them repair. So many people in our fat class used to do the local hospice walk then moan that they'd put on weight at the next weigh in. It'll come back down again.3 -
Thank you @CRANKY40. That’s interesting. I was christened over 500 miles away, so can’t just pop in…I wonder if it’s still standing or if it’s been turned into a carpet shop? There is a beautiful church in the village here, all whitewashed and picturesque, but they seem to take turns with a Sunday service in different villages as it’s only open every now and again. It’s a nice way to keep them all open. I’m guessing it’s Church of Scotland, but I’m not 100% sure. I love the idea of community that comes with religion(s), but I’m not naturally joiny 🤭 I hope your gift comes out of the pit today 😁
Dog did come for a lovely drive with me and had her window open between rain showers, so we both had fun. Now she wants to go roll in the mud in the garden, so I’ll take my audio book 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
