Good morning and happy Thursday ☕️ I went back up half a pound, so who knows when that will disappear again. Today is a lunch out so today might not be the day to lose any more 😅 I don’t know what to have, but I’ve been reading the menu quite a few times.
The CT bill came yesterday and has increased by 7%. The difference was nearly £30 a month and MrWW had a meltdown because that’s much more than 7%. Some quick googling reminded me that they knocked £150 off last years for some CoL payment which explained the difference, but MrWW could not accept that we saved money last year, as opposed to being swindled this year. It’s such a lot of money a month and it sometimes feels like we are being charged to breathe, but I don’t enjoy the paddy’s, or the huffing as I try to explain what happened 😖
We didn’t go anywhere yesterday, but I took my car out to make sure the battery has some charge as it’s been sat in the snow since I brought it back from the garage. Someone nearly ran me off the road by driving into oncoming traffic to avoid a pot hole…how I swerved out of the way without hitting the curb is a miracle. If I hadn’t swerved they’d have definitely hit me head on, as it was we missed by inches 😖 And then my tyre pressure warning came on. I’m hoping that’s just the cold weather and not a slow puncture. At the moment it seems to cost me on average a few hundred per drive, but I really want to keep it until I can afford a good replacement outright. It’s a bit catch22 when you can’t save up because of the outlay on repairs. I’m hoping I get to a point where everything is done, replaced and reliable. I do not want a car loan ever again.I tried to get dog to come with me, but I was parked in the drive the wrong way because of the snow, so the doors being in the wrong place and opening in the wrong direction led to a refusal. I tried her from both sides, but she thought it looked dodgy so I put her back in the house. If only I could lift her 🙄

Happy Friday ☕️ I feel sad that my week off has gone so fast and yet I think I need the routine of work. When I’m at work I get frustrated that I don’t have time to do home jobs, but when I’m off I don’t do them either 😅 Maybe it would be different if I had more than a week off, but I don’t feel I can leave work unattended that long. I really meant to log in this week…but haven’t!@AnotherNewDay that’s awful! It’s just daylight robbery. I’m sure we’d all feel better if we could see where it’s going, but generally it just feels like an overpriced bin collection! I followed a moneysaving YouTube person in America who had opted out of paying for bin collections and they just drove their rubbish to the tip themselves, saving quite a bit. I wonder what would happen if you could do that here? I think there’d be rubbish mountains where everyone forgot to go 😁
Yesterday my weight went up, but today back down. I’m 0.2 from the next pound. We did go out for lunch yesterday, but I didn’t have tea. I’m planning the same today. One nice meal I don’t have to cook instead of 2 smaller ones. I did have a warm chocolate brownie and icecream yesterday for dessert 😋
I managed to get the decluttering total yesterday by going through a cupboard in the utility room…apparently I’d been saving padded envelopes, empty boxes, a set of bottle stoppers, extra nut crackers and all sorts of unused and unneeded bits in there! Today I need 17 things, but I still have some drawers in the porch and lots of old clothes to go through in the bedroom and a few more cupboards in the utility room. The hardest part of decluttering is MrWW fishing things back out that he hasn’t needed for 10 years, but still wants…like ancient manuals and spare washers! I’m asking him to take them to his office or garage if he wants them 🤭
Did the budget help any of you on here? As usual we fall in the middle ground so nothing ever helps us at all….although I’m delighted all those super high earners are getting some pension help 🤭

I’m hoping the budget hasn’t affected me but I am worried about them trying to folk back to work….not sure where I’d stand as I’m on long term sick but not disability benefit. I had to retire early through ill health but still have 18 months to my state pension. Some days I’m great, I don’t look ill but some days I can’t leave the house 😵💫 and I have to really pace myself. My small work pension isn’t enough to live on and I would be well and truly scuppered if anything happened to ds. It is what it is and worrying about it won’t change anything.January spends - £587.583
