@CRANKY40 I wonder who plants up the daffs on the verges to start with? We have some outside, but maybe I should add more. I am very lucky that dog enjoys the same music as I do, loves my singing and appreciates my rants and Ted talks…it helps that she’s very deaf 🤭

Well done on the 12 lb. The fluctuations are so frustrating but if we keep doing what we’re doing it has to make a difference. My scales broke before we went away so had to go in the bin (they were about 30 years old 😳), I only usually weigh once a week unless I’ve been out for a big meal….then I like to know what the damage is. I do like to weigh after a stay in Millie Motorhome too, so feel a bit awry atm as I’ve no idea what I’ve put on whilst away. I felt I’d done better than I normally do though as I made an effort to eat lower calorie things most of the time. I might nip to buy new scales as I don’t think I’ll cope until Friday for my SW weigh in. I’m hoping to stay at my half stone loss at least. All the talk of free nursery places is so true. How will the nurseries manage as they make the shortfall from the younger children…..nursery nurse pay is terrible. I remember going for a senior nursery nurse job and it was far less than I got working in school. They phoned to tell me I’d got the post - I said ‘thanks but no thanks’ It was quite a few years ago but sadly I don’t think it’s changed a great deal.January spends - £587.582

Good morning and happy Tuesday ☕️🌟
That’s interesting @badmemory. There’s no sponsorship here….and no roundabout in the vicinity when I think about it 😅 I suspect our flower verges are a combination of people in nearby houses some time ago and then natural spreading.
Work was horrendous yesterday and resulted in me complaining to my manager about an email I’d received. I haven’t complained like that for over 5 years as I’m quite thick skinned at work and a bit of a pushover, but it pushed all my buttons and I couldn’t see a way to state my case without starting a fight 😅 That made me stay late, so by the time I’d cooked I didn’t have time to get any steps in.
I have lost another 0.2…a combination of calorie counting and anger 🤭
There seem to be a lot of new diaries popping up at the moment, spring must be encouraging everyone to do some spring cleaning of their finances. I think some will stick and some won’t last very long, but I’m wishing lots of luck to them all.I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday ☕️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Happy Wednesday 😁 The weekend is almost in sight.
I did some big spending yesterday on a gift for MrWW (£350 for a shaver) as his old one has been packing up for ages and it was 50% off in the spring sale. To be honest it should also polish his boots and give the full old fashioned barber service for that price 🤭 I have taken it from next months budget, which is a crafty way to not reduce my savings this month. I have the oil to buy at the end of the week, but then no other big expected purchases in April as we’ve bought the posh eggs already for the family. How lovely to be able to buy a big present without going backwards. It’s been a while now, but it never gets old. I do actually struggle to spend big amounts now and thought long and hard about it…but I need to make sure I don’t tip over from careful, but enjoying life, into Scrooge-like meanness 😅 I’m trying to ask myself if things are needs or wants, if we’ll use and enjoy them, or if they’ll be more clutter to clear out. It’s just work today and nothing exciting for me.
I hope you all have a great Wednesday 🌟Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Work sounded awful…..well done on complaining. Hope there’s a successful outcome.
Lucky Mr W getting a special present. Mr M has a special birthday towards the end of the year and I keep thinking of ideas for him but haven’t really got a clue.
Well done with the losses again…..every little helps 👍January spends - £587.582 -
Thanks @milann. Men always seem so awkward to buy for. MrWW tends to either want nothing or a fully functioning space rocket and launch pad (or anything else completely out of financial possibility 🤣). I usually struggle knowing what I want, but can be shut up with anything food related 😋Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I bought Best Friend a solar powered watch as his last present. I even made sure it didn't have a metal strap because he doesn't like those. He wears it most days.... I agree though, men (including the HT) are awkward to buy for. I'm a gin, chocolate and flowers kind of person. BF and the HT usually manage to come up with a combination of all three on suitable occasions...2

Good morning and happy Thursday ☕️ Happy pay day eve 😁
I haven’t much to report really. The shaver arrived yesterday which was amazingly fast for up here!I bought a cardigan last week which I forgot to report. It was in my saved for later basket at £40 for months and kept decreasing. When it got to just over £15 I bought it. It’s a bright pink wrap around one. I had a black wrap around one that I wore to death and was really flattering, but I haven’t even tried this one on yet! It’s sitting on my printer here in its plastic bag. I’m annoyed with myself now as I clearly don’t love it enough or need it enough to even open it. It feels like I spent for spendings sake now, even though I justified the bargain at the time 🙄 When I get to the bottom of my clothes declutter I will make sure I I throw some old tops out and put this one in for wearing. I don’t have a lot of clothes that I love, but I have a lot of clothes (lots are 10 yrs old)…then I tend to shove on the comfy stuff without any thought or effort. Probably a more capsule wardrobe with a one in one out system would serve me better.I am still flirting around this same pound on the weight loss front. I lost half a pound a few days ago and it came back this morning! I only managed 4k steps yesterday and that was an effort to squeeze in. Perhaps I need to get up at 6am instead of 7am to get some more steps in. That feels extreme, but I need to do something as just eating less is taking so much time. I know it will happen eventually, but I was hoping it wouldn’t take years 😅
I hope you all have a fabulous day 🌟Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
