milann said:I’m finding getting exercise in too and I haven’t even got an excuse. I’m not working, have gym membership and some nice walks nearby. I just haven’t got the motivation atm. I will get there though 👍 I used to have a skipping rope and skipped through a tv advert - eventually I could skip the whole commercial break. Don’t think I could skip 10 skips now though…..all that activity was years ago.
I need to get my audio book or a podcast in my ear and just go for it…but it’s cold and I’d rather eat (my sad, sad, low calorie) lunch.Maybe if the pounds don’t drop off then I’ll be more motivated to move too, although I think I read somewhere that the majority of weight loss is just linked to food, rather than exercise. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

afternoon WW and friends
I heard that about the food:exercise ratio - 80:20 i thoughtI have loads of goodies leftover from Xmas but i can resist until it is open - I am working next to a big box of Th0rntonz chocs - unopened so i can avoid the temptation
I have a friend who i meet once a week before work to go for a walk; I wouldn't be motivated to do it on my own but it's a great chance to have a catch up, fresh air, get steps in & then I start work .

80:20 is right Deni. You can lose weight without exercising but obviously it helps with the calorie burning and toning up.
WW surely you’re allowed screen breaks when WFH, we are. When I’m in the office I get up and walk around every so often and do the same at home. There are a lot of walking workouts on You Tube that start at just 5 minutes.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
Thanks Deni. In theory SA, but I find it hard to step away sometimes and you can guarantee someone will be pinging you the second you get up. I do bumble off for a coffee or to let the dog have a wee, but should make more of the steps too! MrWW would think I’d lost my mind if I was doing YouTube walking workouts in the house, but I have done a few ‘get fit with Rick’ ones when he’s on shift (as recommended by you) 😁Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Similar problems here, not helped that I stopped having the house to myself overnight when first lockdown hit and never got it back.
I know people who swear by under the desk tread mills or stepper things while they are working but they are expensive and I am a miser.
the mini stepper things are alright in front of the TV though, if you are in your own as They can be quite noisy. Our local free thing on face ache quite often has free equipment. I can't do skipping of hula or anything involving co ordination. Couch to 5k trudging was good though.

@milann and @redofromstart I feel your pain…why can’t we be embarrassing freaks in our own houses without comment 😬 i looked at those under desk tread mills redo and I was shocked at the prices too.Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I have to go out in the morning if I'm going to exercise otherwise I never do it! It is really hard to get away from the desk sometimes I agree.
