  • Go WW ☺️ Have you got a plan in place for how you’re going to achieve said goals? I bet you have a notebook ready.
I have an ongoing excel file with various sheets 🤣 It’s so much easier for looking back to see the progress (and hiccups) along the way. I do have a notebook for tracking my reading for the year as I’m a sucker for a lovely notebook…as you all know 😬

I'm going for 2 stone.  I lost 3 stone earlier in the year & took my eye off the ball & put almost one back on again.  So annoyed with myself.  Losing 2 stone will put me into what I consider a perfect weight for me but all the websites say is too far.  But I've noticed the joint problems getting even worse since I put the wieght back on so fingers crossed there will be at least some improvement.  So an alcohol free 2023, that mostly does it for me as when I drink I drink too much & some smaller portions.  Here goes nothing!
I have a friend & also a family member who tell me off for weighing every day (not DS) & basically sneer when I say but if I do stop then I put weight back on.  Guess what!  Here we go again.  Why do I listen to them?  It's almost like they want me to be overweight.  One is really overweight but the other is a stick insect that the doctor told must put some weight on as she was putting herself at risk!
So drinking all the alcohol in the house, DS doesn't drink because of his meds & buying no more - save me a fortune.
  • @badmemory I like to weigh daily. When I don’t, that’s when the damage happens! I think my joints are worse with the weight too. My ankles are dreadful when I get out of bed, it’s like they seize overnight. Lack of exercise and too much podge are my number one suspects 😕

I have a nasty feeling that the alcohol also does not help my joint problems.  Which is another reason to go alcohol free.  I wish I could still have a nightcap but it does temporarily ease the pain so I tend not to stop.  I expect by the 3rd it will all be gone.  Especially if I do what I did yesterday.  My son, who doesn't leave the house, bought me a 1.5 litre bottle of my favourite whisky.  My hands are not good at the moment, I think because they got very cold a few days ago.  Trying to pour from the larger than usual bottle I went and spilt some.  I was lucky to not actually drop the bottle.  The air was blue.  If someone else had done it I would have said don't worry about it but because it was me I was furious with myself.
  • @badmemory it’s always harder to forgive mistakes in ourselves, but it could happen to anyone. Could you pour over a tray in future, just in case there’s a spill to catch?
