  • It’s more of a brain thing with the porridge pots…if I don’t have to think about what to have it helps me just get on with it. Although it usually takes me a week or two of being good to stop thinking I’m hungry 😖
Anyhow, my run of not spending too much has crashed today as the dishwasher started playing up again. MrWW keeps fixing it, but it’s not sticking so we ordered a new one. It’s much cheaper than the current model though and does everything the current one does. We also got a discount, so that was good and it came in at £370 including delivery and disposal. It’s a hotpoint (which I’ve not tried before) so fingers crossed it lasts at least the 6 or 7 years the current one did. The good news is of course we could pay up front, so although my savings won’t be as good this month, it isn’t debt.
I think the next thing will be the American fridge freezer as it’s been doing some bizarre things for about a year now. It dictates wether we should have ice cubes or crushed ice and refuses to acknowledge the settings, it just randomly swaps. I expect that electronics bit will be the dearest bit to replace, so when it finally gives up we’ll probably replace it….but for now we take the ice we get given and say thank you for still working 😁

We used to have an American fridge freezer and I wasn’t impressed. I always used to swear by Hotpoint appliances but they seem to be in cahoots with Indesit now and have gone downhill somewhat. Hopefully yours will be fine though. I tend to go for Beko now and am a happy customer so far 👍

Good that you could pay up front for the dishwasher, but annoying it needs replacing!

  • This is our second SA. The first lasted about 8 years and I think this one must be 7 so far. Why is nothing long lasting? I do like mine, but it definitely helps having a chest freezer as the freezer side is never as big as expected. I like that the water, ice bit is plumbed in and I like having 3 big drawers in the fridge (meat, veg, chocolate obviously 🤣).
Has anyone spotted any bargains on the advance prime day deals?

  • Happy Friday everyone, nearly the weekend 😁
I may have accidentally bought 2 winter coats from Landsend. They are in the sale, I will use them, but not in the budget this month 🙄. this is what happens to me when the there’s a chink in the savings armour. I dipped in for the dishwasher and opened the floodgates 😕 I have locked them down tightly now!
I hope you are all having a good day ☕️📚⭐️

I don’t know about the yoghurt drinks but I’m going to get some. I’m up for a weigh day on Saturday but I’m away next weekend in the motorhome so will weigh as close as possible.

A relative of mine had a similar threat from the GP. Did the drinks, as they already ate a very healthy diet and struggled to change anything else, and it did help.  Hates yoghurt but had them anyway as preferable to medical intervention.

This is going to sound a little off.  You need to check your results independently as to be blunt not all GPs understand the blood test results properly.  My sisters GP told her to take statins but has a very healthy diet so she went privately & the doc she saw explained why what the GP said was wrong.
