Yes it is harder the older you get
I can be focused during the week but then it all goes wrong at the weekend as i think i deserve treats! I am fairly good at doing exercise classes but i work lots of evenings so it is difficult to get into a routine. I'm ok with resisting chocs and sweets but i love savoury stuff - i haven't opened my special cheese yet as i know i will have no self control once it's opened ....

Morning! Steeling myself to get up and start some school work - must be done today whilst 8yo is with her dad and grandparents, but it's so nice to read in bed with tea!
On weight loss the only thing that's ever worked for me is low carb, basically you can eat enough to not be hungry. I eat low carb as much as possible and it keeps the weight off without too much thinking about it. Have you considered it WW?1 -
I could never low carb! I always feel hungry without the carbs! I follow the Slimming World plan and that seems to work for me, although I'm a really slow loser - no more than 1/2 lb most weeks, very occasionally a lb. It does get frustrating but I'm getting there. Another 5lb to get where I want to be!
I cooked kedgeree for breakfast this morning. Stuffed mushrooms & salad for lunch and pork steaks, mash and lots of veg for dinner. So not a low carb meal in sight!

Oh food! It all sounds delicious! I have lost (very slowly) with slimming world before, but the making from scratch and what you can and can’t have is quite difficult sometimes, so I’m reverting to calorie counting. That way if I need a sandwich or crisps or whatever I can have them and just not something else.
I’m having a mugshot for lunch 😖 Quick and calorie counted. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I think it helps that I enjoy cooking from scratch! I even make my own curry powder, jerk seasoning etc! In fact I need to make some curry powder as want to make a butternut squash and chickpea curry for dinner tomorrow night and have run out!

Good luck with the calorie counting @WinterWarrior I have tried it before but found it quite faffy to measure everything, and then add it all up and break into portion sizes when cooking from scratch.Live the good life where you have been planted.
